Not on here for long........

Featured Replies

In response to all this expression of anger and grief.

As per Daikings comments - a discussion has been held with Simon and he has been asked NOT to self promote by way of links to DW. The 'donation' was discussed but Briskoda cannot show one price for one and not for others.

Simon is welcome to post but NOT to advertise his services. If Simon wishes to post about work on a Skoda thats fine but make it a direct post on this forum and not a link to another forum where he is a sponsor.

Simon knows the terms on which sponsorship is available and in view of the support expressed it may well be time for Simon to reconsider this and commit.

We would be sorry to see Simon's level of knowledge consigned to the backwaters or worse - All that is asked that the rules of the forum are complied with boyh in interpretation an spirit.

Thanks for the reply on the thread JohnD

It does seem a little bit "Jobsworthy" on the rules, it's not as if all his posts are about self promotion, in fact very few considering the amount of posts he has made over the years.

But, rules are rules I suppose

I just hope it doesnt deter him from using the forum, or anyone else for that matter, the world of info this site provides is invaluable, as are its major players!

Steve

Thanks for the clarification

Pity a little flexibility couldnt have been used!! :wonder:

Yeah - seems a pity really as Chris states - but thanks for the clarification on this.

Regardless of the pedantics - pretty seemless and free access to DW Forums, etc, open to all who have the bug.

It's free and my DW account was activated within a day..... so i know where to go for my info - directly.

I have been missing those lengthy Detailing Write-ups though.... and my missus complaining about lost weekends detailing the car! lol :p

Just to follow up on JohnD's post and the comments that followed.

We can not (and will not) have one rule for one and another rule for others with regards to forum membership and posts. Pedantic and "Jobsworthy"... maybe, but unfortunately that is the way of the world and that of which the Briskoda community and it's members (by way of agreeing to the site rules on signup) follow.

With out order there is chaos.

Thanks for all the comment's and support been out of work this morning and in meetings for most of the day so first chance of a proper reply.

I think it's clear from Briskoda's side and obviously I will toe the line, for me it's not as 'black and white' as stated with other users being allowed to do things that I was told not too......... :dull:

Thanks for the reply John, it was never stated that I could post directly into this area a 'Skoda Marque' detail in our communication, trouble is the forum doesn't allow the amount of images and characters in one post that DW does so just means a little more work for me but not a big problem.......

Agree with the last comment auroan, just a shame that for me your first comment of 'one rule for one and another rule for others' is already not being adhered too, having flagged it up a long time ago to both John and Colin, the thread and event still carries on............. :wonder:

Good I hope that means , ---------------- well I wont go into detail   that you will still post up and hang around

Fair play Simon.... as you say....feedback works both ways

and perhaps a few points to note on both sides going forward.

Thank you to the mods for the replies to our questions regarding Baker21's detailing posts, i apologise for jumping the gun before knowing more of the reasons for the rules enforcement for simon.

Knowing (a little) more now than i did when i made my first comment i can understand your points to an extent, although in the time i have been a member i hav e read quite a few of his detailing threads and never once have i felt that he was advertising his skills/trade, but do sort understand your rules (if not altogether agreeing with them).

As regards your comments regarding "one rule for all" then i would suggest that more rigourous viewing of the threads are required as the rules regarding advertising services and selling of items are broken most days in peoples threads and even in members signatures.

I apologise to Simon for diverting this thread away from his detail of the skoda, but did feel that it was necessary to voice my views regarding the absence of simon's detailing threads.

Regards Phil

I'm not a party to that conversation/thread/event and is something that should be taken up with Colin and John out of the public's eyes.

If you see something or feel that abuse of the rules is evident then use the report button so that it can be flagged up to mods / admin If no one is told then the abuse continues

No worries in diverting the thread, nice to know that people are in support of my input on this forum and also that other's know what's maybe been happening in the background..........

I'm not a party to that conversation/thread/event and is something that should be taken up with Colin and John out of the public's eyes.

Will respond out of the 'public eye' then......

Just registered on DW as there's obviously issues viewing the posts on here. Seen a fair few familiar usernames too !

Yep - easily resolved....no point causing "chaos" on here :giggle:

See you over on DW Paul et al.

I am on there too now, as bluevrs, what a fantastic enroement tool the scooter boys have done on here :giggle:

Been on DW for a couple of years now, cracking site and plenty of Baker 21 threads to enjoy without hinderance.

Also 2p's worth, I have never felt Simons posts, either here or on DW to be promoting his business, I for one have learnt a lot from his comprehensive threads.

But I would never consider paying the flip flop wearing scruff bag to clean my car, theres a garage full of sausage rolls up the road who would do it for a tenner!! :p

LOL, for a tenner they use Brillo pads.

Bung 'em an extra fiver and they will use wire wool! :p

It's only a recent problem, the software is being upgraded at the moment so everyone has to log in, it's not normally like that and should be resolved soon.........
