Not on here for long........

Featured Replies

If it hadn't been for Simon's threads on here then I wouldn't have joined DW (would of saved a load of ££ though :giggle: ) or been cleaning our vehicles 'properly', your threads are very informative and show people what can be achieved to get there cars looking the best they can.

Hope you stick around mate and are allowed to carry on posting your work, as I always enjoy reading your detail threads - even if I do not comment on them

Thanks Martin and apologies for your extra spending sprees.......... :giggle:

As I have said not planning on going anywhere unless forced too so will still be adding my 2ps worth in when I think it's of help...........

Straight over my head mate, not old enough to remember Teddy boys.... :p

A DA is a Teddy boys haircut, the shape was like a ducks arse hence DA :giggle:

:rofl::rofl::rofl: I knew that...... :p

It was late though!

If you want to see Baker's Detail threads then head over to DW world, most forums ban cross posting esp when they are OT. I expect Skoda details are ok but general non skoda things should stay on DW. So in all, I agree with the mods, i mod and run quite a few other forums and we do exactly the same thing.

Ohhhhh, OT meaning what exactly?

You do at the moment.........

OT

Off Topic perhaps

Seems the wrong phrase as any car could be considered on topic.

I agree on this one - the topic of detailing a car, any car, and the products and techniques used is what is of interest to most of those who have made comment on this thread. That's my primary reason for following Baker21's threads. I'm always looking to improve how i clean and prepare my car, SWMBO's car, my mates car..... any car.

Regardless of the above - some of us have been sucked into the scary world of DW..... and already spending money on new cleaning products!!! Oops!!! :giggle:

It's only scary when the wallet says 'No'.

Ohhhhh, OT meaning what exactly?

You do at the moment.........

That's pants then, aleast its free to subsribe..........or do they charge for that now? :p

DW is free, anyone who says or hints at anything otherwise is talking dogs bits.

OT meaning a non skoda detail. I have DW forum for other brands.

You seem to have quite and opinon on this and if you looked a little further instead or replying with statement's that are not true you will realise that 'currently' there is a forum error with DW and unless your a member you can't see anything, so your first comment is false................ ;)

I think there are some people that just don't understand the meaning of my posts and have got me all wrong, the fact is it's no big deal for me to not post up details within this forum on other marques, I do have an issue however where the 'mods' suggest one thing, I stick to it but it's not being followed by other's.........

Ok lots been said and this thread is still here, despite fishing for it.

I have no problem with people offering advice and showing off there passionate work and sharing of information. This is a community after all!

The only problem I briefly had is it appeared SImon was touting for business. I really appreciate Simons inout but once we execute the one rule for one and one for them over there it does get messy.

We have sadly had examples of people (not Simon) taking the mickey and exploiting rules and our implementation thereof.

As it's public we did offer Simon the chance to sponsor this site, similar to how he does on DW. I understand why he would not, we're only a small target and DW is dedicated to his business type. All that was asked was avoid direct promotion of his business, given he sponsors another forum this is fairly black and white.

Briskoda is fully open and free to use. You do not need to sign up to freedom, it's a matter of great personal concern that it's seen any other way.

So to be clear I welcome all content, I respectfully ask rules aside, that the micky isn't taken, we all have to put food on the table via one means or another.

My victim story, briskoda takes quit a bit to do in and around a very busy day job and lifestyle. I've been offered more than once to sell and I've toyed more than once of just shutting it down, it's not worth the personal hassle and so on.

The site is a community that comes first but I will act to seek benefit from those working the site to gain benefit too, be that a chinese bargin, ebay scammer, garage or skoda themselves, in that respect I don't think anything that has gone before is unfair on reflection.

Sometimes we get it right and nobody knows, other times it does not. I know in closing that the end goal is clear, a community, we all work for that.

HTH

Colin.

ps what happens with other threads /events does so under observation and discussion as most do things don't happen on day1 or day 30, each is unique.

All points taken on board, straight from the off I feel this is a good forum, I wouldn't still be posting on here if I thought otherwise, I personally appreciate all Briskoda offer's to it's member's and the knowledge base is very useful, hence my input to other's.

One thing that really doesn't seem to have hit home is that I am only a Supporter on DW to post up details, nothing more, I am not a business, no matter how people may see it, I have a full-time job as I am sure we all have........

Regardless of the original conversations of my input, I have still had no formal feed back with regards to this other issue, I am offering something to Briskoda and it seems to have been blocked, yet it's OK for other's to do the same, that's my only issue now and for me it's been 3 different people I have informed this too and like I say no response........... :'(

Following from the site owners comments, lets try and get this thread back on topic.

Simon, great job as ever. I dont know exactly what products you used on my car in June last year, but it still beads nearly 12 months later.

Yep agreed, sorry to have diverted thread (although appears to have sorted some issues out) excellent detailing job as usual Simon :)

Many thanks and the Superb touch wood is going well, just clocking up 195k at the moment, think it's staying on the 18's long term and I will be shifting the 19's on shortly, had some damage to the undertray due to some recent parking troubles, replaced all the interior handles of late and just need to find some replacement mats as I have worn through another set.......

How's yours?

Considering the topic title, it's not doing to bad!

195k eh? Good work emoticon-0103-cool.gif
