The size Skoda recommend is 215/55 R16 as fitted to The Plumbers new SM. In my experience they are very similar in diameter to standard 225/50 R17's, if anything they are larger by a very small amount. No need for any speedo recalibration as they are fitted to many Yeti as standard. (check the manual)

Apologies Mike but can I correct you slightly 215/60 R16 (95H)

You're not confusing the winter tyre recommendation of 205x55x16" are you?

Mr plumber clearly says he has 215x60x16" moon alloys fitted in his first post.:yes:

(quick edit ,you beat me to it T.P.):giggle:

You most certainly can TP emoticon-0111-blush.gif

I should know what my size winter tyres are emoticon-0102-bigsmile.gif. When writing it I thought it didn't look right.....

Good to see a pic of the Moons again.....

Mike

Those Moons look like my kind of wheel... nice and easy to clean. :thumbup:

Had a run down into Lincolnshire yesterday to a reunion at the BBMF; the new Yeti continues surprise in terms of performance and economy for such a new vehicle (and in comparison to her predecessor). Second fill to fill suggests economy has improved slightly to 45.6mpg with last nights run home across the Wolds of Lincolnshire and up through the East Riding producing the following readout on the trip computer;

Here's some other photo's from the day;

Came back to the Yeti to find three old Austin's :wonder: parked close by, this one made me :D

The Lancaster 'City of Lincoln' returning from a trip to Denmark; understand German Air Traffic were non to amused to hear the call sign Lancaster :rofl:

Spitfire LFXVI TE311 under rebuild; not flown since the 50's :)

Looking good, just saw your other post about the suspension changes.

Which is better? Old or New? Eventually, I would want a 1.8 TSI and would value any thoughts on the matter.

Edit - I know it might be hard with different wheels etc.

You may get some much cheaper. Well, cheaper than a set of rims and tyres anyway.

When we went on to Goodyear 4Season tyres I sold the Dunlops on here and I could only get about £300 for all 4.

They had done 700 miles.

Gutted, I'd have had your Dunlops off you :'(

I need four for my Scout, best price so far £138 each inc. VAT and fitting (£552 total).

Nice to read real life MPG (manually calculated) TP, 45+ MPG from a 4x4 is impressive, wish my Scout could do that well.

May have to considor a Yeti next :thumbup:

How are you finding day to day use and White mate? I always found that any damp roads made White look dirty?

I have had Elsie the Helipad who is Candy White for 5 months and 7000 miles now. Having white has been great because when she stands out a a crowd. If she is grubby, where Musky or cappuccino would not show the dirt, the white shows it.....which means that you can see where not to touch the car emoticon-0140-rofl.gif Which is a real bonus as with previous cars my clothes would get very dirty because you brushed against the car without realising the car was dirty. I no longer do that. emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

White may show the really bad dirt more, but it doesn't need washing any more frequently than any other colour. It doesn't get any dirtier emoticon-0140-rofl.gif I haven't washed mine for a month now.

Now Gobi and jeans......that is a different matter and I have stopped wearing jeans in the car. I've cleaned and protected the leather twice now.

Cheers mate.

I just remember having a white car and no matter how much you cleaned it it would only take 5 mins to look dirty again if there was a hint of moisture on the roads. Love white though. I had an order for a new MK2 Focus RS in white but my intention was to not use the car in winter.

Interesting about the Gobi though..!

Skoda replied to my email from the 2nd May, ref 16 inch wheels, they in turn contacted skoda uk who contacted me via a Craig Berry, who is going to do a "thorough investigation"!!

How hard is it to say yes or no to my request lol
