I don't mean to digress but since we are speaking of Evo FQ-360 I had abit of a spat with one yesterday actually. I was merrily about to drive home from work, when I pulled onto the B3400. (ScoobyChris will probably know the road). It links the village of Overton to Basingstoke. So there is this FQ-360 in front of me, I was naturally expecting the dude to plant the throttle and disappear leaving me to hack along the road at my own safe, albeit brisk pace.

However this was not to be the case. Mr Evo man decided to do 30 MPH, yes THIRTY on a national road. Now ScoobyChris will tell you this is not really a difficult road.

Now I thought it would naturally be disrespectful and uncouth to overtake him since of his rather clear power advantage; however after about 5 minutes and having developed a HUGE que of cars behind me I decided enough was enough. I also wanted to catch the tail end of the tennis. So we approached a long straight, I felt it best to tackle him here as any overtake on a more challenging complex might anger him. I dropped the old Furby into fourth and planted the throttle. The orgasmic, yet smooth surge of power from my belovid vRS was transferred to the road and before long I was well on my way to overtaking success...and the tennis. Now just as I was about to get level with him I hear this roar of an exhaust note, and look to my side and just see this FQ-360 launch forward. Thinking maybe he had decided to hit 40 instead I kept the throttle flat too the floor and watched the revs and speedo climb. By now I was into 5th, still on the wrong side of the road, and doing about 100MPH - and Mr.Evo had f**ked off into the distance.

I aborted the overtake and got back onto my side of the road, now speechless with rage I kept the power down and began hacking it around this next corner hot in persuit of the FQ-360. Only to round the next bend and find the pratt with his anchors on back down to 30 sodding miles an hour. Now you don't need me to tell you that he continued at this speed for the entire duration of the road, and everytime I had a peek at an overtake he would drop it down and get ready to blast me.

So it would appear it doesnt matter how fast your Furby is, its no match for an inconsiderate berk in his sodding Evo FQ-360.

I still get angry now just thinking about it.

EDIT - With respect to the thread my 07" Plate vRS has been Custom Remapped by Jabba; and I've got 141MPH as indicated by my TomTom; I can't remember exactly what the speedo was reading but I do recall is was alot higher then this.

No just curious - why the refusal to show the engine bay? Also Im quite amazed that a corner shop local village garage has the technical ability to tune aroad going engine to beyond a race tuned engine... thats a huge skill he should leave there and go work for one of the top teams.

FWIW my vRS would pull 128 on GPS when standard with an undetermined amount left. I'd expect a mapped/modded one to do 135-140 or so without issue & that's your indicated 150.

Whilst I agree Barry BoXen should have a slightly different surname (We both know what ) I can't help but think threads like this are resurrected for one reason only - to generate conflict on the boards. Personally I don't see the need.

welshy i have just purchased some of those fancy spark plugs for my furby vrs,but i can't find where to put them are they in a different place than on a normal car,can't wait to get my extra 40bhp:Djust need to know where to fit them.

depends what you're measuring in Gallons

a 1.9 litre engine could also be considered as a 0.417041 gallon engine (UK gallons), therefore with 130 bhp, you are running 311 bhp/gallon
