Hopefully this week I will get the call!

Hi All,

I'm hoping this week the long wait comes to an end, the car was built on the 19th April. They quoted me 3 weeks, for all the guys that received theirs recently is this realistic.

Have asked for an update, just waiting for the dealer to come back, want to avoid another hire car if possible this week.

It's been almost 22 weeks now since order  it's gone fairly fast though and you guys have made it bareable

Had mine 6 months now and it too 24 weeks from when it was orderd.

Collected my wifes new Octavia L&K at the weekend and that took 20 weeks.

My Octavia was built in week 11 (wk beginning 14th March) and I picked it up on the 15th April, so pretty much 4 weeks from build to collection.

The longest part was sitting at the docks awaiting a boat. Once it was in the UK it was pretty quick- arrived in the UK on the Saturday or Sunday, was at the dealers on the Tuesday and I collected on Friday.

Are all Superb owners paranoid about delivery date? I am.

Ordered a white Elegance hatch 1.8 TSI DSG in week 4 and was give a build date of week 14. A couple of add ons but nothing of significance to screw up the dates.

Buily week 14 and left the factory by the end of that week 8 April on a train for Emden. Not sure when it got there, but it didn't get loaded onto a boat until 26 April (week 17). Now for a bit of paranoia, after research I concluded that it was put on a pretty little car transporter the MV Main Highway (finished in a cheeky shade of red) which left Emden at 15.08 and arrived Grimsby on 27th at 11.32. Main Highway left Grimsby for Emden at 00.35 on 28th so one can be sure that the white beast was on UK soil on 27 April, where it stayed collecting bird crap until 5 May arriving at the dealers last Friday 6 May.

Of course I wasn't concerned about the car, but I just happened to be passing on Friday afternoon (what's a twenty mile detour between friends) and thers she was.

YESSSSSS Fan-bloody-tastic. Even better than I expected Looks good in white.

Delivery on Thursday 12th (week 19)

Now accepting that between the date ordered and the start of week 14 there were 67 days and ignoring the 5 days of week 14 there were then 34 days taken for transporting the car and dealer preperation, almost FIVE WEEKS. Mercedes give you the option of picking the car up from the factory, and for the delivery charge fly you out, put you up over night and pay for the tunnel to get back. If two people go there is an extra charge that amounts to the additional air fare. And you get a tour of the factory. Good fun. Skoda should do something like that to reduce stress to expectant owners.

Probably to repeat what others have said the umberella is not included, no matter what the Skoda web site says. It seems that a load of dockyard people in Emden and britsh ports were walking about with Skoda brollys, so they dropped them. A bit pricey to buy but you've got to have one,.

Roll on Thursday

You may be pleasantly surprised, picked my new Superb up on Friday and the umbrella was present and correct! Now either nobody wanted to "liberate" it or the dealer replaced the missing one...

Delivery dates seem very random. My car was a wk 15 build, arrived in UK by 26/4 and I got my hands on it on 6/5.

Well worth the wait, imo.

Hurrahhhhh, I've had the call. My car arrived last week but the lady was on holiday who deals with commercial customers at the Skoda dealer, I'm picking her up this Friday morning.

I will post up pics over the weekend.

If our only half as happy as I am, you will be delighted

Once the wait is over, it feels worth it. However while your waiting, it feels an eternity!

I agree. Well happy with mine, thought my mk 1 was a top car, but my mk 2 has exceeded that. I love the features and have even had fun setting all my preferences, once I figured out how!

Good luck for Friday, hope all goes well!

Placed my order on 4th April. Dropped into the dealer this afternoon with some paperwork. He checked the system for an update and tells me it's parked in Emden waiting for a boat to it's new home. :D

Can't believe it has been so quick. Initially wasn't expecting to see it until the end of July at the earliest. Then three weeks ago was given an estimate of build week 20 and then today finding out it has already been built two week early :o

Ordered my SE 170 DSG Estate with most of the extras on 31 January. Not in a hurry. Today the dealer told me it has landed in UK and I may get it at end of May. Not bad. Now just have to rob a bank a bit earlier than I expected

10 weeks from ordering to delivery. One week to handover after it arrived at Grimsby Docks.

Phil

4 x 4 made in same plant as Passat so they often get made with a shorter build time.

Superbs made in the main factory take longer, mine was 24 weeks and my wifes Octavia took 20 weeks.
