Manufacturer of Happy Drivers... but not any cars

Featured Replies

Just came off the phone with Skoda Uk in relation to my VRS order ( placed Jan 15th initial build week 12 then 18 and now not known..... )

It was basically them saying that they're sales have gone up 25%, can't keep up and how great a position to be in for them it was.

Of course I strongly disagreed with him and told him it was ridiculous and I was told 'not a lot you can do but wait'

They're going to undo all that good work if they don't pull they're finger out.

I know if my car is not here by the end of June then I will be cancelling.

So if anyone fancies a red Vrs, climate and dark chrome alloys, place your order start of July and you'll get one quite quick !!

If you ordered in January you should have it by now? Mine was ordered quite a while after you and i've got a confirmed build date now only 8 weeks after ordering. I have heard that hatchbacks have longer build times and estates shorter. Not sure why, maybe because they have estate shells in stock and are having to make hatch shells to keep up with orders?

I think the hatch sell more volumes but c@@k up this is apparently skoda do not carry stock make and get parts as orders come in , bare with it and hold on I know it's a pain but well worth the wait!! Or other option cancel and wait for the 1.6 dsg vrs 2113 I think

And then wait 6 months for that  lol

And then wait 6 months for that  lol

Aye same problem with 1.6 supply and outstripping supply lol

Skoda will have an advert next

*STOP BUYING OUR CARS! WE CANT KEEP UP!*

Thisnis all good for resale and a solid brand. I'd much rather a wait than there being hundreds of cars available which will ultimaty result in massive brand erosion and bigger depreciation.

They are already putting the prices up (effectively by reducing the headline offer) by 5%.

My car keeps getting cheaper, nit only have I locked in the VAT free now get 3 years free servicing as well. At this rate by September they'll be paying me to take it while they're selling new ones for much more.

Have some patience, a short delay is not so bad. It's how the motor I destroy used to be before the days of instant gratification and terrible residuals for owners.

Skoda have it right in my opinion

Better than Ford who make thousands of black and silver Zetec specced cars and say which one of the two would you like? :rolf:

'a short delay is not so bad'

Not really a short delay though nearly six months at least......

I'm going to hang on, just venting my anger. I suspect that the order hasn't been put through correctly as the wait seems excessive.

Thing is... what can you do? I want the car so gotta wait. Over a barrell.

Hey ho, at least I don't live in Japan or Haiti etc, suppose that puts it in perspective !!

I suspect that the order hasn't been put through correctly as the wait seems excessive.

It has probably been entered and should be an existing order if you have an SLI number.

We ordered a Fabia 1.2TSi DSG Elegance Estate on the 1st of February with a 16 week estimate. Only 3 weeks off the estimate but we haven't even got a build date yet, neither the dealer or Skoda UK can tell us when it's going to be built.

Cheers

Usual 1.2 TSI and DSG being the problem here apparently!

ordered ours here on the 13th of jan and recieved it on the 17th of march.

ours is red though without climate but with a good few other extras like black wheels/roof etc so cant see what the hold up could be? :wonder:

Did you order sat nav? I think there's a delay on those.

Works fine in the Yeti, plenty of poke.

Wouldn't have thought so, more power than the outgoing 1.6 petrol and more torque than the outgoing normally aspirated 2.0 petrol and the torque is available anywhere between 1550rpm and 4500rpm.

The 1.2TSi suprises many in the heavier Yeti.

As turbo technology increases the engine size is going to decrease with no loss in perfromance. VNT turbo's for small pertrol engines make there debut soon so expect 200bhp+ from a 1.6 and 160bhp+ from a 1.4. VAG have also suggested a 900cc 3 cylinder TSi to replace the 85bhp 1.2Tsi.

Wow

Interesting how sales (does that mean orders or cars delivered) have increased from 2010 to 2011 yet production (reported on page 80 of the 2010 annual report) decreased from 2009 to 2010, production changes 2009 to 2010:

Fabia down 15.9%

Roomster down 28.0%

Octavia (tourer) down 20.3%

Octavia up 26.9%

Yeti not at 100% production to compare

Superb up 89.1%

They also quote year on year production figures for VW Passat, Jetta and Audi A6, A4 and Q5

It seems the various divisions of the VAG group and even Skoda (be it UK or head office) are not communicating with each other or their customers.

We ordered our 1.2TSI DSG Elegance in mid-May last year and it arrived mid-September, so 4 months. Looking at some of the posts on here we had a quick turn around!

I ordered my Fabia VRS Estate on the 7th of Feb with the following options

Sat Nav

Bluetooth

Uprated Steering wheel controls

Dark Chrome Alloys

Headlight washers

Armrest

Climate control

Still no build date, spoke to the dealer a couple of times and he said nothing on the system but he did tell me that I will be getting the latest sat nav. I cant see it being here until end of June.
