OK I'm back from holiday and read through most of this thread.

Here's the situation:

Putting a name down for a group buy is a commitment. What I said in post #113 of this thread is as follows:

Before we go any further I'd like to thank those on the list for committing to the group buy. We've had people drop out of other group buys at the last minute which just causes problems for everyone, and so we now have 30 and we're going to proceed on that basis. Regardless of whether you have paid or not you have committed - so please honour that commitment.

I find it a real shame that there are people who have committed and not come through with their payments. Thankfully, in this group buy, we still have more than 30 people and so in this instance we will be going ahead as planned and the units have been ordered. If there had been less people there could have been a real risk of this whole thing going belly-up. Realistically those who have committed should be finding replacements or honouring their commitment, however as none of those people appear to be contactable then that won't happen.

So, thanks to those who have committed and paid and those people should be receiving their STS units by the end of the month as scheduled. Those without STS units will have either been seen by us already, be booked in, or can now call to book in to have their maps carried out.

We had plenty of time to pay up and I understand circumstances change, but a PM or a phone call would be better rather than to ignore updates on this thread

Agreed. It doesn't take long to log onto to the forum and post a message. At least this isn't the case for most members

I think in future you should have to pay a deposit in order to get your name added to the list. About £50 non-refundable which should help to stamp out those not willing to honour commitments as they would lose their deposit if they dropped out.

i think its just a lack of common courtesy on the part of those who haven't paid up, financial situations can change but manners cost nothing!
