Protecting the interior

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I'm getting my car shortly & I beleive it does not come with any protection for the seat covering. Is there a product out there any of you can recomend & any approximate costs would be a plus for me.

My old car has a type of scotchguard to it, is this type of product available on the 1/2 leather & 1/2 cloth mix of the vRS ?

Any help/guideance would be much appreciated.

Mark

The proper Scotchguard isn't directly available to the public, but is obtainable via eBay and it's what I use.

You're right with the vRS seats, you should use the Scotchguard on the inner sections and a decent leather protector/conditioner on the bolsters. I'd recommend Poorboy's Leather Stuff for that: http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/poorboys-leather-stuff-cat23.html

Hi HWMBO (although I consider this a very unlikely arrangement....)

Be careful with scotchguard on 2 fronts. Firstly it's very easy to stain plastics with it - so make sure you've got all trim covered before going ahead (especially if its an aerosol applicator)

Secondly, it's got some really nasty chemicals in it, so if you're doing it yourself make sure you're in a well ventilated area and that you give the car a good 12 hours to dry afterwards before spending any time in it.

But if you're careful the scotchguard should certainly help - especially on the cream bits of the seats.

best of luck and enjoy the new motor - they are totally awesome :-D !
