I just installed the V7 maps on my columbus but it seems speed cameras are not included. This was the disc for western europe so it may not be the same as the Brits V7. I thought I previously read the V7 included speed cameras. Was I just dreaming? Or are the cameras hidden.

Correct, speed cameras are not included on any VAG sat nav disks. if they were they would be well out of date since you would have no way of adding new ones.

They can in an unofficial way be added, but the process is complicated and even once you get them on the columbus you will not get alerts.

I made a V7 DVD with speedcams for Norway and Sweden in January/February. I works ok, but as mannyo points out, you won´t get any warning, just an icon on the map. Works for me though... I downloaded the database from this page (you need to register to the forum to download the database). For Sweden only, I think, you can get the database from this page. I used a program called POInspect0r to insert the database and make a new DVD. Note that you need the map DVD, since the program makes a new DVD with maps and speedcams (it copies the original DVD and adds the POI to the new DVD).

I don´t remember where I got the icons for showing what speedlimit triggers the cam, but I still have the Icons if you want them.

the best speed camera database in the UK is from www.pocketgpsworld.com. You do have to subscribe. the process is complicated and as stated above you need the original DVD. There are instructions on the website for how to do it. I just use their iPhone app instead....

Had the app on my iphone and when I changed to the Desire use their Android app, works like a charm

CamerAlert app on the iPhone.

I have the columbus nav, never use it. Using Navigon on iPhone, with speed cameras and warnings.
