Which ECU Remap

Featured Replies

The DSG box is torque limited.

Google, celtic tuning, you get so much more power in yr vRS from them, id imagine it would cost tho.

And a knackered turbo!!

IF you're in Cardiff, local tuners I can recommend would be Allard and Forge, both are based in Gloucester.

I have personal experience with Forge and can vouch for Richard and his remapping skills :D. Forge have had very good results in remapping too, and are site sponsors. And I suppose Gloucester isn't too far away from Cardiff.

Allard is also very reputable. They do lots of big turbo conversions and the like so know what they are talking about

The DSG box is torque limited.

So does that mean you can't remap at all or just that there is more of a limit as to how far you can push it?

It's the torque that's the killer. A decent mapper should be able to reduce the torque, but probably extend the high end a bit. So you're trading torque for power. I don't know how much can be achieved with the PD though as it's big potential is in torque more than power.

Anyway, as said, any decent tuner will a) know of the torque limit and B) be able to modify the map accordingly :)
