So ive had my 2005 fabia mapped for a while now, around 30k so i thought id post a map up and see what everyone thinks.

Figures after remap are 176.2bhp and 332ft/lb

No other mods apart from remap and std clutch

Thinking of uprating the clutch as the clutch slave cylinder seems to be on its way out (no slip yet)

Is a new std clutch the best option?

Anyway, i dont think the map is too bad (although could be a bit smoother). Some good gains over standard

Simon

A standard clutch is rated to 300ft/lb so it's best to get an updated one so a standard one doesn't get eaten in a short space if time

If a standard one has lasted 30k tho, is it really worth the extra expense of an uprated one. Good torque figure aswell

You will need an uprated clutch for that sort of torque, unless youre really careful and don't boot it until well above 2.5k rpm (judging by the graph). Driving in such a manner sort of defeats the point of having the power though I think...

You may want to change the flywheel at the same time as a precaution. Standard one will be fine with sachs clutch.

Why is there a big dip in power at 3000 rpm?

Theres no need to uprate the clutch unless you drive like a tool. Even with the above recommendation of a sachs clutch & standard flywheel you`ll still need to wait till 2-2500 rpm to boot it, or the standard flywheel will **** itself. Once remapped then the car should drive & be driven much more like a petrol, more power higher up, so when "pushing on" there is no need to wack it into 4th and boot it from 1500 rpm unless you are a actual spastic. Use the rev`s, drives properly (like it sounds like you have been anyway) and save yourself ££££ by getting a standard clutch.

The updated clutch was a brill buy for me, not sure about changing to the single mass flywheel though not really needed for the power your putting down. Plus sends more vibrations to your gear box which is even more expensive to replace I say update the bitch buy leave flywheel alone.

im running 182bhp 302ft-lb been mapped for 18 months ish still on orignal clutch and just about to replace it at 165k first time since it was built in 2003

Mine runs at 178bhp & 311lb/ft. But been told it could be more than that as it was trying to lift itself out of the rollers

Standard clutch will be just fine,

std clutchs are very good IMO

I'm not sure about the power dip in the middle of the map. Any ideas?

I don't boot it below 2k at all and try not to boot it below 2.5k. Thinking of going for a uprated friction plate. Does this mean I'll need a new pressure plate to? Uprated or oe?

Only thinking of uprating as I do 1/4 miles once or twice a year

Thats a very expensive 1/4 mile!!

If it was trying to lift itself out of the rollers would probaly suggest the car has been hit at some point and isnt running straight, not because of the power as dynos are usually rated to around 1000hp lol

or more likely it just wasnt strapped down very well

matt

Yeah the straps Kept slipping - they gave up after the first run - got my season for free.

The chassis is straight
