  • I seem to remember the car made more than 220bhp when Michael @ jabba did it and he backed it off and sorted the map out to stop spiking. I have the print out of this also, so I don't think it a duff

with power comes cost, oops indeed, any kind of warrenty from jabba?

Ouch, not good.

Ouch

you stated your car has been running that power since 2008 what sort of mileage has been put on the engine since the work was done?

Doubt it, if its a custom map then its up to the customer what parameters they want changing.

Turbo blew around 30k so 11k has been on the power.

Some things happen. Forged pistons hmmmm

The PD130 is far from bomb proof, seen a fair few drop cylinders or compressions just of late.

All the ones I've looked at recently have had poor smokey remaps, co incidence? Maybe.

Not coincidence, more diesel in = smoke = higher EGT. If your map isn't particularly smoky then I would recommend getting your injectors tested, as if it's been overfuelling on one injector for a long time, you could hole/crack the piston.

My pistons came out mine fine after running at silly power for some time. I was so happy with them that they just got a clean up and were reinstalled (on forged rods though)

The map I have from yourself doesn't appear to smoke

4 brand new pistons with new rings going in today. 360 for the lot, oem of corse.

Should be back up and running like brand new tomorrow after I run it in

That's the thing. Shark know how to map a car!

More smoke = messed up injection timing, not poke!

Haha u lads know nothing really, I had cracks in my head. It had blown across all 4. Plus cracks across the inlet and exhaust valves plus the glow plugs. Me and my mate have done it and she runs well now.

It was probs down on power also

Just to add also. I have some injectors spare and a cam

Good to hear

Should be like new

Yup as shark & Ross said, seen a few recently with similar issues, all have **** poor smokey maps at some point. (not saying that's your problem) but deffo food for thought now miles are building up. glad it's sorted now, did it feel down on power before?

Matt

Shhh jabba can get you 270bhp on stock nozzles

They also had a hybrid pd150 at 247bhp i believe

:) hehe

My car is smoking alot since i have had my remapp about a month ago, im off back up there monday as im not happy with the result. Went out for a eun in the car earlier for around 100 miles, car was clean when i left but was literally black by the time i got home :wonder:

Is it a garage job to check the injectors are working properly?

Who mapped it?

Its s head off job to get an injector out and tested so i very much doubt it

I'd hope they would do a vcds scan before it was mapped to check they arent mapping a car with pre-existing issues
