I've been trying to find a way to do this (as well as get the instrument cluster to light up during the day without the side/headlights on) on the vRS but to no avail.

I had the dealer code front AND rear DRL's at the same time (option was "tail lights on with DRL's" on VAS) , if we could find a model exactly the same as mine without this coded we could work out which bit / byte VAS changed.

can we email Ross tech support on this & the issue with dash illumination on all the time? do they help with things like this?

Yes, send them a full scan of the car and they will look into it, hopefully when the next software update is released there will an inclusion for this.

I'd like my instruments lit all the time too.

Does anyone know what the byte is for a 2010 Octavia with separate bulbs in the foglights? I think I tried 30-39 to no avail. Just can't get them to light up!

same problem I've changed byte 18 in my Skoda Octavia 2012 (facelift or fantasia) with a bcm module from 00 to 7F and can't get it back to it's original code (00 is not the original code it's a hidden code), so if any one knows the factory code for byte 18 please post it

Thanks, but if you read the whole thread you will see in post #2 that I found out the code was 31 a few days after I posted this (June last year)

If you know of a code to get DRL's front AND rear for a RHD car with xenon's then that would be useful emoticon-0148-yes.gif

My car is also Superb Combi with Xenon and separeted DRL from 2011.

I saw there is a coding for LED DRL with rear parking lights and when I changed byte 18 from list the DRL 's gone. After with this option, the front and rear parkinglight starts working like before the coding.

 

Now I set back byte 18 for code 31, and this LED DRL function not works again. I hoped that the DRL can work together with the all parking lights ,but this way was also a dead end.

There might not be a correct byte 18 value for your car. If the factory code was 00, then the lighting configuration was read from a section of eeprom that VCDS can't access. It also means that by changing byte 18 you have lost this original configuration permanently.

 

You need to find someone with either VCP or ODIS-e that knows what they are doing. They should be able to restore the original functionally and also enable rear lights with DRL.

Excellent, to confirm the cars default byte 18 was 31 and by setting it back to 31 everything is working as it should.

 

As you've not posted an autoscan, I guessing you have a 1K0937087AN fitted. If this is the case you can get rear DRL working if you find someone with VCP or ODIS-e to alter the lighting configuration after setting byte 18 to 00.

Maybe this help for somebody.... But my car only wworks with 31 coding :(
