Are you still waiting.

Back home. Got an immense sticking plaster over the burn now, got to back on Monday to have it ripped off for a check. I won't have any hair left on this arm at this rate :o

;)

When it's midnight, they don't care about parking. At least the arm doesn't hurt any more.

I only went because the NHS website advise that a burn that raises a blister should be checked out. Seems I got my first aid right and it is not serious. Not looking forward to having the dressing torn off on monday though.

I always thought if it was a burn that you were supposed to let the air get to it? Or am I being stupid?

Yes you are! ;-}

Any blistered area should be covered, otherwise it is similar to an open wound and can easily let infection in.

When did you last do a first aid course?

Indeed. My self-help first aid, was:

1. Shout loudly and jump around the kitchen.

2. Off with the shirt (was long-sleeved and stuck to the arm).

3. Arm into cold water for 20mins.

4. Dry arm gently. Apply small amount of Savlon antiseptic.

5. That was a bad idea, arm back into cold water for 10mins.

6. Dry arm gently, apply dry dressing pad and lightly bandage.

7. Since it was a larger burn and blistered, off to A&E.

Still, nine years between A&E visits is a good record :)
