who's everybody insured with

Featured Replies

Had my renewal from privilege and its gone up 400 quid and nothing changed except am a year older and got another years no claims, there is no way am paying a grand to insure a standard mk1 vrs at 29 with 7 years no claims

Just wondered who everyone is insured with especially the people with modified vrs's as i want to start doing a few bits to it

I had this problem when I came to renewing. My premium went up about £300 with another years NCB! I shopped around and beat the renewal immediately, eventually ending up with swiftcover which beat anything else.

insured with Sky insurance went up £100 (previously owned a sport car!)with all modifications declared and the wife on the insurance now paying £800 for a 200bhp Fabia

I use go compare for all my insurance needs including motorbikes. Always seems cheapest for me.

i agree try go compare

mines with quick fit £427 38 year old full no claims on a octavia vrs 2004

my clio 172 went up to £728 last time so changed the car was cheaper lol

The flux were good for me, modified policy obviously. They like "built not bought"

I'm with Admiral, mods declared £150 per month

I'm with admiral.Been with them now for 3 years.Been driving 20 years with no accidents and clean licence and yet it still goes up every year, how do you work that out.I do shop around every year and admiral have been the cheapest so far.....

I'm with Direct Line and paying £163 a year, with 10 years NCB, can't see it getting any lower than that to be honest now! All I can is it going up.

Saga, So is SWMBO

Direct line for me also.

They weren't the cheapest quote, but had better policy options for the price.

I'm with the Pachyderm, Mine went up £38 this year.

How`d you mean?

I`m with flux also, fully modded fabia vrs. I`m 22, mrs is 20, the price is pretty good imo

Matt

NFU Mutual - same premium as last year, Check comparison sites which could give a cheaper one-off premium but were all dearer for instalments as NFU charge a very low APR.

SWIMBO with Saga for the CRV. Miles cheaper than anyone else - but prob cause they cater for oldies and her 85 yo dad is a named deriver.

I have never found a comparison site that is not way more expensive for an often lesser policy. I have used Lifesure .co.uk for the last 7 years and the premiums are extremely good. My road tax and fully protected comp. insurance are under £350 for the year.

Admiral this year - same as last.

Their renewal came in rather expensive.

I called them up to cancel, they asked me what the best quote was I'd got.

They undercut that by £10, so I stayed with them.

Comparison sites are coming about 100 more than last year for a decent policy, modified ones on them are quoting more than cars worth tho so think ill give flux a ring

Esure for me.

First year ever that the renewal has been the cheapest price I've been able to get. No dearer than last year but I'd normally get £30-50 off.

I use go compare for all my insurance needs including motorbikes. Always seems cheapest for me.

I tried them but as soon as the word 'modified' appeared on the horizon, I couldn't get quoted. Mustn't like Northerners.

Built not bought is why I'm with Adrian Flux. They told me that because I've had the car from new and built up the modifications myself over time, I'm less likely to crash it. If I went out and bought a 500hp Skyline, they'd be less happy as it's a massive jump in performance, instead of a steady increase. It makes sense to me.

Im with adrian flux,

22,

parked on the street,

3 years no claims,

Car valued at £4k including all modifications below.

£550

Admiral for me too!

Quote for this year came in a little more than last year so I rang them up and asked why, got the usual rubbish about costs going up blah blah, a little rant and managed to get it for the same as last year!

I was with privilege and mine went up to £950!!! told them to F*** off. Got it for £493 with More than. I'm 42, mrs is 41 with 10 ncb. I've got pointson my license though.

BMW insurance as we had a 5 series then changed a few months in, weirdly it went up £75 annually!

I got a theory about insurance company renewals-------- New customer quote much lower than any one else just to get your business, foot in the door and all that.

Come 1st. renewal, "lets hike up the price in the second year and hope he doesn't notice" as we now have 'Continuous Insurance'

instructor cover plus! (underwritten by allianz) £360 for fabia II vRS.
