Octavia vRS to Superb 2.0TSI DSG

Featured Replies

My Octavia vRS will be four years old next week. I'm planning to keep it for another year but starting to think about what to replace it with.

Quite tempted by a Superb Elegance 2.0TSI DSG as comes with lots of kit as standard which would be extra cost options on another Octavia vRS and much as I love the Octy I can't get excited about a like for like replacement. Had a look over a FL vRS in local dealer today and that just confirmed it.

Have test driven a Superb CR170 and very impressed but my annual mileage is only 11,000 so wouldn't get the extra cost of a diesel back in fuel savings (especially while 5% VAT offer on petrol Superb continues)

Anyone else done or thinking of doing the same?

Is there a likely to be a facelift of the Superb in next year or so?

I strongly recommend the 2.0 TSI. I have had mine for 3 months now, it's Superb ;-)

Ask me if you have any questions.

Superb! (had an Octavia before the Superb) and the handling is better a lot more equipment for your money, plus quieter.

Hi Dekagon

What's the spec on your car? Are there any options you would recommend?

I have the the 2.0 TSI DSG on order, currently due start of Sept.

Like you I didn't believe I could justify the additional cost of the diesel over the petrol given my anticipated mileage of 15k pa.

Spec ordered is in this thread here

Additional info in this one here

Hope it helps

Going from a octavia scout to elegance estate 1.8 4x4 picking it up tomorrow. Been on order since 19th Feb, hill hold, sunset glass, auto dimming rear view mirror, heated screen, keyless entry, heated nozzles and luna wheels turns out it a MY12 luna wheels now not a option so we got the 9 spoke option. Been looking at the pics not sure see in the flesh tomorrow. Will try to post pics at end of weekend make your own minds up........Oh its in Amethyst Purple. did the same when orderd it was VAT free with petrols done 23000 in 3 years in scout( that is petrol also)

I changed from my 4 year old Octavia VRS PD in October

SKODA SUPERB ESTATE Elegance 2.0Tdi/CR/170/DSG

Black Magic Pearlescent

Mobile Device Interface

Heated Front Windscreen

Upgraded Sound System

Variable Boot Floor

Sunset Privacy Glass

18” “LUXON” wheels

Onyx Leather

Had a few niggles, mainly the seat position, but all in all I'm glad I changed.

I still haven't put any pics up yet tho

Come on Jim - sort those pictures out !!!!

Strange about the seat position - I virtually got mine right within the space of 2 days, but then again they are just standard manual seats, not electric.

HOw you finding the sound system now?

Linda from Allams called this morning to tell me that my car will be built in week 3, so not too long to wait for pics :)

Looking forward to pictures! want to find out if you get a rear spoiler and if brakes are uprated (like the V6).

The brakes size of the Superb 2.0 TSI are the same as the of the Octavia RS.

Hi, I,m also going from Octy 2 FL VRS to Superb (SE Plus 170 Diesel) - i gather there's a lot more kit on this model though i,m adding 18" alloys as i can put my winter tyres straight across! Happy Days!

I've been searching the web for a rear view of a 2.0TSI. I've found several Indian spec Superb hatchbacks with a small rear spoiler, but the only rear view of a European 2.0TSI I can find is an estate.

The brakes size of the Superb 2.0 TSI are the same as the of the Octavia RS.

They are uprated/larger than standard then?

Have a look on the skoda website. It says the specs on there

We know the V6 has a rear spoiler but I can find no reference to this in current brochure

My V6 has the same spoiler that's on the accesories website

No, front brakes are all the same 312 mm. But 1.4 TSI got 272 rear and all the rest 282 mm.

RS brakes size front are all the same on Superb below 3.6

I called Allams for an update today. My car has been built and expected to arrive at dealer next week. If I'm lucky I might even get to see it when I go in to sign the finance paperwork on Wednesday, but I'm steeling myself to wait for the beginning of March and a 12 plate to take delivery.

I've also done a deal to get a set of the Luxon Anthracite alloys fitted prior to delivery. I've got dark chrome wheels on my silver vRS and wanted to keep the light colour, dark wheels theme on the new car.

Next week is my last with the Octavia before it goes to a new home with another Briskodian - as most of my work travel is by public transport I reckon I can survive without a car for two weeks, but I'm already looking forward to swapping a train seat for a Superb!

Well I made it to Allams on Wednesday and got to see - and sit in - my new Superb. Looking good and will be even better with the anthracite wheels fitted.

And here's the answer for BurialConstant...

Yes you do get a rear spoiler on the 2.0TSI :)

The Octavia goes tomorrow - roll on 3 March!
