What runs under the plastic undertray (UK drivers side)

post-47-0-83833200-1309103793_thumb.jpgHad a bit of a mishap leaving the hotel underground parking this morning in Spain (had to reverse as no where to turn around). The undertray grounded at the top of the ramp, result a lot of noise and where the undertray attaches at its rearmost point its broken and now flapping around in thin air. I can sort this out easily enough by adding a large washer to the bolt that holds it up, but what runs through there that may have also sustained damage. I would go and investigate further myself but it's 40c here in Bordeaux and at the moment the car is in direct sunlight.

Note to ones self, never reverse a car up a steep ramp that then levels out with 2 1/2 weeks worth of luggage for five in the boot and other stuff and 2 passengers making the rear of the car much lower than normal.

The fuel supply and return pipes are that side, if any split you would see fuel, then again pipes could be squashed.

If its any consolation, I have 'lost' the rearmost part of the driver's side undertray due to bottoming out over humps - the Greenline is lower and has a small downward lip that became detached without any damage to the fuel pipes. No plans to replace it and there doesn't appear to be any effect on the fuel consumption - probably one of those bits they add to reduce the CO2!

I checked everything now I am back in the UK, managed to re-attach the under tray so all is good once more.

How did you get on, Iam giving my 170cr Elegance a wee run out to Venice on Wednesday for 2 weeks, 1350 round trip, so fingers crossed everything goes OK.

600 to channel and 800 approx to Venice, with 1 night stay in Saint Quentin France.

I thought it would be good driving through Switerland, but Ive found out that I have 3 rather big tunnels, 1, the gottard, is 32 miles long, so looks like we will not be seeing the Alps just tunnel street lights

Hopefully I wont need it, but has anybody on the forum had to use Skoda breadown in Europe

The rufus

Same happened here when my wife went into reverse and she inadvertantly ripped the back section that holds the length of covershield...had to improvise with a knife over a gas flame and re-mould it back into position before screwing it back on....but yeah the greenline is lower than standard superbs so we have to be more careful going over humps !!
