Hi guys,

ive been lucky enough to obtain the bigger brakes upgrade for my VRS from a friend who is a mechanic for VW. these brakes have just come off his polo as he has just fitted PORSCHE brakes (yes, PORSCHE brakes) on instead. he had the bigger brake option on his car but now that they are off he said i could have them fitted onto my car for the bargain price of £150 and he said he'd throw in the bigger rear brakes with calipers for that price too.

thing is, the calipers that he's taken off are in red and i'm considering keeping them that colour but just cant decide as i'll most likely regret it and want them green once they're on. but then again i might not...?!

so. what would you do?

red? or green?

Wagdog..

Mine have been red for years. Admittedley not so red now following some track days and not being ar5ed to clean them :giggle:

Mine are red, but mine is the se.

I am debating doing mine in Lime Green, might be a good twist on original colour :wonder:

depends on the colour of your car i think.

I think red brakes on silver work very well..

Defo red, never really liked the green ones for some reason.

May aswell leave them red IMO.

What types of paint can calipers be painted with? I know of Hammerite. I have seen Foliatec paint kits, and Halfords branded tins (which I assume are the same as Hammerite). Was intrigued to see this on the Halfords tins "Maximum working temperature of around 80 degC (brake calipers do not actually get that hot)".
