SH!!!!!TE just arrived cambridge from north wales, 30 miles out the road became rough and rougher and rougher!!, bloody puncture rear side on the A14 wasnt the road just riding on the rim, hopefully not damagedemoticon-0106-crying.gif, kwik fit in the morning are they ok ?, but fuel economy great not used half a tank and done 250miles and absolutely fantastic drive until the puncture emoticon-0120-doh.gif

Kwik fit are *bleep*

Depending on the size and brand, could sting you. ATS can be cheaper.

IF you can wait, then Kwikfit do discount quite a lot, but you'd be looking at 2-3 days on the spare.

Kwik fit are usually more expensive than local independent tyre fitters.

adam im 250 miles from home need a tyre in the morning, hotel owner say's they are good ? any sign of your monte?

If they have the tyre in stock you need to order online for a sizeable discount. Daft I know even the technician said it was the system. Cheaper than any local dealers when I went.

if u need a tyre then anywhere is cheaper than a tow

Ah reet! Monte is at emden :)

Tyres away from home.

You could try here http://www.tesco-tyres.com/

No they dont fit them at the superstores :giggle: ................................ you use their approved fitting centres which happen to be in the main independants. What will they try to sell us next :wonder:

http://www.blackcircles.com/ seem to display a better range and the tesco site says in association with Blackcircles.

I just got a couple of Falken Ziex ZE-912s fitted to my Roomster for £140 fully fitted. Those tyres are not even shown on the tesco site.

Be careful with kwikfit. There's an investigation going on in Lex Autolease into kwikfit putting part warn tyres on their fleet and billing for new ones

Yes but you cant get same day! They dont work like Argos sadly!

Well the two they fitted to our Motability car were new, and have lasted longer than the originals... I'd be surprised if they would try that on a major customer?

As others have said they are ok, but can be a little more pricey than the indies.

Well had tyre replaced with bridgestone turanza as no continentals to fit on mine, cost £149 but checked and about right but cheaper pre ordered but didnt have the time

Kwik fit are fine if you are stuck and don't mind paying too much because you are stuck. Which clearly you were.

But otherwise I'd never use them.

I was totally stumped and I definate got overcharged but we needed to be in bassingbourne for sons pass of parade, didnt have the continentals as came with the car new, only 1,500 miles done on the tyre I was gutted but when changing the wheel on the A14 hard shoulder I caught the rear bumber with suitcase 2 chips on paint, got to find out which is the best way to sort them out !!emoticon-0183-swear.gif

Seb,

How was the pass off parade, PM me please it could be beneficial.

Inside information ;)

Inside information ;)

Be interested to know how they supposedly had part worns to fit. One store maybe, but as big as you imply? I just can't see it.

The only scams I know with lease co's and tyre places is usually fitting cheaper tyres or fast wearing big brands and charging for tyres not actually fitted.

Been happening for years.

Kwik fit are terrible, have to use them to change my tyres on my company car and they score my alloys nearly every time. Still at least they send someone out to refurb them for free but not the point; the wheels are never the same either.

I would make sure anywhere you go has rim protectors before allowing them to change your tyres, particularly on something low profile.
