My Silver Fabia vRS

Looks really well now mate! Is that headlight film hard to work with? I would like to try it on my VRS!

Not at all Daz, I did mine in 30-45 mins tops.

Could have taken a bit longer with it and made a neater job around the inner edges of the headlights but im not too bothered :)

Happy enough with it.

Just have to sort the centre caps now and its done.

Looksuch better mate! I was hoping to pick up some vinyl tomorrow from trax - you've just made me make my mind up :)

Got any tips for doing them?

I love what you've done.

The attention to detail for each of the different things you've done is great, it's subtle and classy.

Take your time, dont rush too much, if you make a mistake, heat them up and then start again. Use a micro fiber cloth to rub out any creases.

Little bottle of soapy water helps alot too!

Thanks thats an awesome compliment! :D

Made my day, cheers!

I peeled the vinyl off because 1 it looked ****e. And 2 it water marked really badly for some reason.

Looks alot better without it!

Anyway I fitted some 15mm spacers to the rear today and reprinted my rear calipers.

Think I'm going to change these to 20mm and move the 15mm to the front.

Shame about the vinyl - I havent done mine yet.

could you get another 5mm in there? Those 15mms look wide! Which spacers are they?

Got any pics from the front towards the rear? I really want spacers for mine :)

I defo could get another 5mm, tbh that pic was with the bolts finger tight and let down onto the ground. Once they were tightened it went in a few more mm's.

They're oned from EBay nothing too expensive only £45 delivered I think with the longer bolts. I bought them from a friend for £40 never used. 5x100 & 5x112 on it.

Not too heavy which is good and a snug fit!

Cant say for sure tbh.

As I only put them in yesterday!

Where am I going to find a brickie a chippy and a spark at this hour? :(

Just down the road from me - think I might go pick some up :)

Ordered my 20mm ones for the rear on Saturday and they were dispatched this morning so i'm a happy chappy :)

Spoke to the chap at the company on the phone and he was a very helpful pleasant chap

Is this a paint or film? And can you apply with the lights in situ or did you take them out?

I sent him a message and he was very helpful. I've managed to pick up some 15mm ones in the FS section with a set of 4 McGuard extended wheel bolts for £45. Im going to change to 195 tyres though so might even need 20mm for the rear in which case ill stick the 15mms on the front :)

It's a film. I've left a link to the seller on eBay previously in the thread

I done them in situ :)

At the weekend I decided to clean the car as it was bogging, full of dents and scratches.

I've not taken any dents out, but noticed a few more after I had finished.

I've removed the coil overs and Lamin-x from the headlights and its almost back to standard trim and its much better now. However I am on the lookout for a nice set of Eibach 30mm springs for it now.

So I covered it with Auto-smart wash from my Karcher "lance" [ in the loosest sence of the word! ] and let sit for 5 mins.

47D5B045-B2E8-43C9-9179-CA4EB4BC0BA7-304-0000001F096063F0.jpg

Then washed using a 2 bucket method.

After I clayed using some putty clay stuff that I picked up in the local motor factors, its made from real Smurfs. Its quite a hard clay so had to soak it in hot water for a few mins before trying to use.

For the lube I just squirted each panel with the Karcher again, seemed to do the trick quite well.

Once I had done all this I rinsed it all down and dried it off with a Meguires Waffle Towel that I picked up in Wallmart for about $5 last year.

This let me see all the scores in the rear bumper, they didn't come out too well on the camera unfortunately :(

The large buff on the bumper was caused by some bint in the Towercentre reversing into it twice and driving off. Some kind person left her details but the police didn't want to know :(.

The scratches on the wing were on the car when I got it. Looks like a careless mechanic or possibly even a dog had caused them, unfortunately some were too deep for me to remove :(

I have the scratches all a good rub with some 2000 grit Nikken sandpaper and after a few passes most scratches were removed or reduced greatly!

I then turned my attention to the headlights, since the Laminex had seems to speed up the deteriation of the plastic on them, causing it to yellow and go crusty.

While I wasn't able to restore a factory shine it really improved the appearance of them.

After that I made a few passes with Poorboys SSR2 on a yellow Meguires soft buff polishing pad with a rotary.

I found the compound to go into every panel gap going so had to power hose it all out again afterwards. But was very impressed with how easy it was to use and remove afterwards.

After that I gave it a run over with FireGlaze Plus+ on a black Meguires soft buff finishing pad. Again blowing the remaining product out of any gaps with the power hose.

I finished off with some Nattys wax. Slicked the tyres with Meguires Endurance, and cleaned the windows and rubbers with AutoGlym FastGlass.
