Because they don't need to stop an oil burner........:giggle:

They are a bit pricey though.

Lets say someone was considering purchasing a PQ35 platform car in the near future, and might be interested in the above brake upgrade, what would you would be a good price for said upgrade???

cheers

I have seen R32 kits go for as little as £350, and fronts only for £250......:o

Bare in mind if you search eBay, the R32, S3 and mk2 Cupra are essentially the same brakes, just different colours.

cheers Pagey  - surprised how cheap they can go for...

I would only offer him £250 for them IMO

Looking at the condition of the discs I would tend to agree.

Something to also consider, if you fit these the smallest wheel that would fit is 17" so no real chance of winter wheels going on. And, after talking to vRS Carl last week he needed to grind a bit off the caliper to fit behind standard Neptunes! :o

Yup

They will fit behind 17" Zeniths however due to the spoke design on the 18" neptunes the Calliper needs a bit of persuasion with a Grinder :giggle:

As has already been said the Cupra/R32/S3 brakes are all the same the ONLY difference is the colour. I have them on mine and as long as your not bothered with adding a bit of unsprung weight (about 4kg per wheel iirc) they are a fantastic upgrade.

You also don't need to get the rears as the standard vRS 288mm rears are fine with these so it's win win all round

wow I didnt know they were available for that kind of money. I would have thought £500 was about right.

Not selling mine anyway they are way too good :giggle:

I'd say there was some room for negotiations

I picked up these off the same site for £380 but they do come with upgraded disc's/pads and Goodridge braided hoses

Tfsi_Mike?

To be far on the seller, he is including the hubs which are so useful!! :giggle:

I should say that these would be a better buy! ;)

Tfsi_Mike? correct!

"I should say that these would be a better buy!" depends on the end price, the starter is £480

Very surprised that Carl had to grind the calipers to fit behind Neptunes. R32 ones fit on mine with plenty of clearance. (note: my spacers are rear only, front is standard)

Just wondering if the Neptunes have changed slightly in the last few years. Mine is a 59 plate, so one of the first facelifted vRS's, I assume Carl's is slightly newer?

Don't forget the same brakes unpainted come on the A3 3.2 quattro and i managed to get a complete front set with new pads and discs and with the brake lines for ...... Wait for it ..... £100 :). To say I was happy is an understatement and sold the standards for the same so free essentially!

Just a bit of elbow grease cleaning and painting them and £25 for a set of S3 clips and job done

I guess, only going on what the ad says! ;)

+1 on that :giggle:

S3 hubs retail at something like £450. If they are in the deal I would say snap his hand off.
