Skoda Named Top Manufacturer for Reliability, Quality etc etc...

Featured Replies

Notice this today...and seems in line with all the other surveys. Not bad eh! And just to be clear...this is the Manufacturers award based on Vehicle Quality & Reliability, Vehicle Appeal, Dealer Service & Customer Satisfaction, Ownership Costs, and not the individual model placement awards which is quite different. Although Skoda are doing exceptionally well in that category too.

J D Power 2011 results... Skoda...a top brand

2011 survey results Skoda a Best brand

Edited this as I posted the wrong link and title to the thread...sorry! Thanks to Tix for pointing that out Ta!

Yeah. I must admit I never thought I'd ever buy one, but I'm glad I did :rofl:

Nice to see skoda on top

I am now on my 4th Skoda since 2004

for

4. 2010(60) CR170 Diesel Elegance Superb 4x4 Hatch 9000 miles and the fastest armchair that I have ever driven!!

SKODA RULES OK!!

Great stuff but how come the Ibiza is last? Same car as the fabia!!?

Going from strength to strength  Quite a few of my friends are coming round to the fact that they are a sensible , educated choice ;)

How they are put together and how the dealers react to faults I suspect... I wonder if this survey was done before all the recent delivery issues?! ;)

Lets hope it does not go to their heads too much and they continue to provide excellent service coupled with excellent value.

As has been indicated it's do to with build quality, which on the Skoda is one of the best, and the number of warranty claims per 1000 vehicles, again which is one of the lowest in the industry and beaten only by Lexus. Good customer service at dealers is certainly another reason according to most of the surveys. Sadly, SEAT doesn't have a reputation that comes upto the Skoda standard...but they are getting better as Skoda know how filters out to the rest of the VAG group. Remember, it's Skoda who has been a key player in helping raise VW's poor build and reliability to where it is now...up from the very bottom of the JD Power survey to now just below average for reliability and build. In time they will achieve the same high standard as Skoda no doubt.

Not this year they didn't (date on your link is 2010)! The 2011 Which award went to Hyundai and was presented to them on 24 June 2011. Skoda was a runner up though and had 4 cars in the top 10 overall, the Yeti and 3 Superbs. See Honest John and Telegraph for more details - though not much more.

Interior on the seat is shocking.

Very plasticy, thread on the seats was starting to come out on the demo car I drove, and no cup holders that I could see!

Thanks Tix. Apmaman, yep theres cup holders. Just realised I posted the wrong title and link to this thread...it's the latest announcement on Fridays news article I'm referring to. It's not related to individual models, it's the manufacturers award which is something quite different to model placement, although Skoda seem to be doing very well there also. Skoda as a manufacturer is usually at or near the top. Do a google and you'll find Skoda up top in virtually every survey over the years...must mean something.

Its nice to see Skoda doing so well but I don't need a survey to tell me how good my little gem is. ;)

as a previous owner of a SEAT, customer service is absolutley rubbish! ever fault they tried somehow to blame me for or were reluctant to fix!

Brand loyalty or just simply the fact that they do the job well for reasonable cost.

There are not as hot on customer satisfaction as they used to be!!!!

There are not as hot on customer satisfaction as they used to be!!!!

I would second that. The loss of the smaller family businesses that couldn't afford to upgrade to the new corporate VAG showrooms was the start of the decline.

It's not all dealers though. Some are really good and one of the reasons why I'm sticking with Skoda again is my local dealer and the Briskoda community. The old local dealer was such a shower of sh1te Skoda took the franchise off them. I've had to deal with my local Suzuki and Ford dealers for work and my parents and both can't touch Skoda for customer service.

I now have 5 close neighbours in my road who have bought new Skoda cars in the last 2 years... embarrassingly, mostly down to my good experience with my car. All of them Fabia's. All diesel, three estates, two hatches. No one's had any problems of any kind. That is except me. I had to have a second rear hatch door badge replaced at the last service under warranty. That's two in 3 years. I've written to SUK and Watch Dog in disgust and threatened to buy a Smart City Car unless they give me a new car (Vrs obviously!). I reckon that's the least I deserve for all the worry and sleepless nights about that badge! emoticon-0102-bigsmile.gif My dealer, Underwoods of Colchester have been brilliant too. Nothing is too much trouble.. The staff on the Skoda side are just so much of a cut above the average in the way they listen to you and treat you and your car.

Edited because I can't speel, speell, spleel...spell!
