Good afternoon all

Here is my problem, ive recently noticed between 1500 and 2500 revs in 3rd and 4th gear my turbo is making a very loud hissing noise. Ive read other threads about this sort of thing, but only mentions flooring it in 2nd. I've done this and theres no problem, the car pulls true with a healthy grunt.

Can anyone offer ideas, possibly loose/split hoses or is my turbo on its way out

If you can hear it hissing, it's likely to be a boost leak.

Loud whining is the sign of a turbo on its way out, however it would likely do it in every gear.

You would still get some hiss/boost noise in the higher gears, you just wouldn't normally hear it much due to wind & road noise.

I'm curious now, as I'm sure mine seems to bog down more than it used to in 3th & 4th at those revs!! What's it mean?

its not the same as when i bought it, so i'd say yes. It doesn't pull like it use to, still feels like it wants to though
