My fellow Roomster owners, a quick question... is the tailgate on your Roomster Metal or plastic?

The reason I ask is there seems to be some variations across the range and I'm curious as to the reason for it (if any)?

My MY08 Roomster Scout - plastic tailgate

Father-in-law - 57 plate Roomster 1 - Metal tailgate

Roomster Scout, Anthracite, 59 Plate, Metal Tailgate...(or very magnetic plastic ).

I had no idea Skoda made a plastic tailgate for the Roomy

Hi dont know if this is going to help,maybe, maybe not. I have same model and colour and year as you, my tailgate is Plastic along with i think, front wheel arches(this may be normal i dont know). Only put it on incase somone with 'o8' might have Metal.

Hi Jonny5ive,no, not same spec, dont worry. Liked your pics that you have on site. Have got DTM rear spoiler(thats not a one upman ship comment).

Counteracted by the enormous wheels on mine

Think the plastic tailgate is only for the Scout. I love the "thunk" mine makes when you shut it!

Hello All,

My Roomster 3 1.9Tdi (in Polar Blue), purchased from new in June 2008 has a metal tailgate. How do I know? Because it started rusting before it was three years old! Long story, but was sorted out by Skoda under warranty, so some browny points to them.

2009 Roomster 3 Tiptronic Metal, or the mgnetic GBG plate would fall off.

Anyone out there with a facelift Scout? Interested to know if the tailgate is still plastic...
