Um, im going to be a novice and say why does it matter? the difference in radius is -1.52% which is acceptable, is there anywhere I can read about this being a bad idea?

I would have thought it would stick better in the wet with slightly thinner tyres, also economy and acceleration ever so slightly better.

yeah i know there's not exactly a massive difference but i'd prefer like for like

Um, im going to be a novice and say why does it matter?

Also if you've got a picky insurance company then it might matter quite a lot?

195s are more common tyre, why not try them?

The rim will have less protecttion from kerbing and stone chips, every little helps!

You're lucky at getting Toyo T1R's at that price. I needed a set quick after an MOT failure and had to pay £396 at Protyre - and they wouldn't give me any discount as I usually get there...

OP, I recently bought a set of Uniroyal Rainsport 2's from my local independant for £345 fitted (tracked & balanced).

Many have commented on these tyres as I'm sure you've read, but they wear very very well and grip is superb in all conditions.

In my admittedly limited experience, I won't run anything else. Cost and performance are very well balanced for my requirements (no track days etc, after grip & longevity).

Hope that helps

Tyres changed and MOT done (all good except a number plate bulb - 7 freaking quid to replace from the MOTing garage)

Having had the front tyres changed at the MOT 12 months ago checking the relevant paper work says the front Pirellis (1 of which was below the 1.6mm limit - failing the MOT - the other of which was only an advisory) lasted 21,0000 miles

I reckon thats not bad at all!!

That also confirms that my other half doing a 60 mile a day commute racks up the miles pretty quickly!!
