1.2tsi remapped finally!

Ok so an update:

The Yeti has been getting quicker and more responsive slowly over the past few days, its seemed to have leveled off now and i believe its given out its very best at this moment.

and boy oh boy, its a RIOT to drive, it spins up the wheels in 1st if you sneeze at the throttle and in 2nd if you mash it.

Not that spinning tyres are proof of it being fast, it pulls like a 1.8/2.0tsi right to the redline and effortlessly cruises on the highway at 130kph.

Throttle response is almost like a giant N/A engine, you would never think this was a turbo'd engine.

Its so good i should call up VW and ask them to sample it, as this shows that a little 1.2 can give almost hot hatch performance while still pleasing those EU emissions ******s!

I have torque from 1,500rpm, instant throttle response, top end pull like an N/A engine plus fuel consumption is identical to stock (impressive since i have been driving harder than normal).

Got a 1.2tsi?

REMAP IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How many miles/km have you passed since the tunning so we can keep track on the progress. Please let us know how is going with oil consumption and hope that turbo holds well in the heat. Enjoy every moment of it :)

For future references. Gearbox spec obtained from this thread: http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/211086-18tsi-4x4-dsg/page__st__20

Gearbox code is MQ200GA-6F (Manual) and DQ200-7F (DSG), same for 1.2 77KW and 1.4 90KW (For DSG see http://bioage.typepad.com/greencarcongress/docs/ViennaWienSymposium2007.pdf). Not sure about the torque limit, but I guess the "200" means 200NM (now the 1.4 produces something like 220NM in reality, so may be 220NM? Wikipedia shows the dry clutch type could accept upto 250NM and wet clutch type could deal with upto 350NM)

The searched on Google bring up a lot of Chinese results, possibly gearbox built in China?

The 1.8 TSI features a DQ250-6F (DSG).

The heatsoak issue may well be down to the chargecooler, they are great pieces of kit, but it will have a limit to its capabilities, which you may be near now. Maybe a front mount intercooler at some point could fix the heat management issue, but all that extra pipework possibly won't be good for response. Maybe a bigger chargecooler and rad would bring temperatures down, but its fitting them all in.

Pl;eased to see the 1.2 mapped so effectively though.

The 6 speed DSG in Elsie I have been informed is good for 440NM, which is why Elsie has now around 420NM........

Pick the car up tomorrow - tangerine metallic, ex demo, 6 months old, 800 miles on clock - can't wait!!!!

Looking at all sorts of things at the moment, makes me feel like a kid in a sweetshop - I don't know where to go next ;);)

Brilliant - I really like the tangerine metallic! Enjoy the new car!

Got it

Dealer a bit blase etc etc but got the car at the price I wanted with the trade in I expected.

Really impressed with the little beastie although initial fuel economy is a little disturbing - 36mpg.... My 2.0ltr Mondeo TDCI Estate with a very heavy right foot is showing 42mpg....

Grin factor makes up for it though :D:D
