looking forward to F1 2005

With the formula One season justa round the corner, are people looking forward to it?

Renault seem to be the favourites for Saturday's race, with Ferrari running last years's car for the first two races of the season.

Lets just hope it doesnt turn into the usual "lets follow shoe-maker" parade.

Every season I look to someone to kick Schumacher's a**e but it never happens.

Maybe beginning of this season though...as the Fezza ain't looking tha tgood compared to the Mac and Regie.

I used to get up at all hours to watch the races live but not anymore it is just so boring now ...it doesn't matter who is front it still just a procession as with all the aero dynamics they find nearly impossible to overtake except by using the pit stops to sneak past someone....take away the compulsory pit stops, take off the wings, make them all 3 litre diesel turbocharged and watch the feathers fly...let's go back to real racing

No. Can't say I am. Used to be hooked every Sunday years ago but now it's just two hours of parade lap.

And no doubt everyone's favourite German will STILL win due to a tactical advantage.

Rearrange these words into a popular phrase 'head nail the you've on the hit'.

I have to admit I am really really looking forward to....

BTCC, GT, Supercopa, WTCC.....

F1, couldn't give a toss about it anymore.

I'm looking forward to it and a bit annoyed at ITV's choice not to show this weeks qualifying. If it were football it would be on.

Ahh, another F1 Season, another set of rule changes...........

Only one set of tyres all weekend.............

Only one engine fir two whole race weekends..............that should be very interesting for some of the less well funded teams with mechanical gremlins.........

Am I looking forward to it?

Of course I am. Can never get enough motorsport, and the only one I can roughly follow, given the lunacy of ITV and C4 scheduling for stuff like Rallying and BTCC.......

(and actually being at the Malaysian GP this year has nothing to do with that anticpation, honest........ :P )

BTCC coverage was great last year, towards the end of the season it was live, BBC used to struggle to show it two weeks after at midnight for 5mins highlights!

I am an F1 nut and I can't wait for the season, especially since it's the first for ages that's looked like others might win. This time last year Ferrari were pretty much wiping the floor with the opposition in testing, this year they've been nowhere. And they're starting with the same car that was outclassed in the last couple of races of last year. I've nothing against Schumacher but it's about time someone else wins.

As for the BTCC I love it, coverage is getting better and better, and I hope to get to Brands to see it at least once this year. About F1 coverage I think it's appauling that they don't show the qualifying, I mean most of the time they have some ancient film nobody wants instead, which is really irritating.

I think I'm looking forward to it, not sure yet...

Its either going to be really enjoyable or I can have as much fun by threading different coloured beads on a piece of string, starting with a red one of course!

Got my sliver stone tickets booked cant wait

I run a fantasy F1 competition at work if anyone is interested. You have

I for one cant wait, with the new regs drivers like button and fisichella will do well as they are easy ont he tyres. While ragged lunatics like montoya and villenueve might struggle towards the end. And the renault has looked ominous over long runs in testing. Also thos griping about the qualy not being on they are showing the first session. This is blagged fromthe itv website

Qualifying - Saturday March 5 - 12.55-14.45

Race LIVE - Sunday March 6 - 01.55-05.10

I`ve already got the pizza`s ordered :D

Schumacher is pure class, I known it ****es people off watching the parade but it's a bit of history your watching, one of the greatest F1 drivers ever.

WRT BTCC & WTC - these should be good this year, I must say I'm really looking forward to the Moto GP starting up, the WSB are going to be very competitive this year, 2 of the front runners were half way down the top 10 (there'll be no procession there :D ).

Can't get in to F1 nowadays.Did enjoy some of the shootouts years ago with Mansell and even Damon Hill.

Leaves me feelin the same as watching darts.Give me a rally car going up a mountain like a loony anyday :D

The old stuff is great, my video collection has started to come on nicely in the last few weeks,

F1 85-96 (excluding 86 & 89) plus 2 Senna Videos

BTCC 88-00 (excluding 89 & 90)

Well what a bore this sport(?) is, year after year all the same, hardly any overtaking, no thrills or spills and the majority of the drivers have all had personality by-pass operations.

I have seemn more life in a tramp's vest.

I used to be an avid fan, but year after year it only gets worse.

A few years ago I had the opportunity to go to Florida and watch some proper racing with American Nascars, no run off areas for these boys, if they make a mistake they hit a concrete wall. The racing is close and exciting the cars are very similar in performance, so the driver has more input.

Just watch a race and see, how many finish on the same lap and how much the lead changes.

Any comments?

My dad's tractor is more advanced than a Nascar :P

Its got flappy paddle gears and air conditioning.

And he drives round in circles with it too.
