yummy mummy with new furby

Featured Replies

Hey Hey

Picked up my lovely new vRS yesterday and so have registered here too today!

Have checked all your advice about running it in, and will follow it.

Have any of you got any good contacts for Scotchguarding the interior (especially the seats?) Our little girl is just 1 but I guess she's going to get messier as she gets older so I want to keep it looking smart a little longer....

Looking forward to hearing any advice

:)

Welcome :wavey:

Hope you are enjoying the car !

Welcome to the site...

I'm sure a vRS owner will be along shortly, but meanwhile try the search button up on the navigation bar above, you may find some discussion on these....

Enjoy..

Hello & Welcome

I'm sure you'll find plenty of usefull info - as Ian said try the search

Welcome  Nice choice of car  May I get the preliminaries concluded by asking what colour? :P (colour is often a heated debate with us mad Briskodians! ;))

Do a search for "teflon". A lot have used that to protect the light grey fabric interior :)

Welcome! I think my wife looks super cool in hers.Feel happy with her driving in a solid chunky car and looking forward to getting a babyseat for it!

As said there are lots of threads about seat care :)

Scotchguard kits are available on ebay although my personal favourite is the local shoe shop - they sell it for protecting suede shoes!

Welcome to Briskoda.

Where about are you Lulu? I know a good local valeter who does supaguard/diamondbright valeting alot chaper than the dealer, inside and out.

Have checked all your advice about running it in, and will follow it.
Which particular advice? That in the Owner's Manual, HonestJohn's or some other? I am of HonestJohn's generation but consider some of his advice to be outdated.

Did I forget to say welcome? :o

Thanks all for your welcomes -in swift response I have a black vRS -v nice, and tweaked up a little with cruise, heated seats, extra headrest and airbag deactivation (in case one baby ever becomes two...) Husband wants us to go down to AMD, but I feel it's fast enough already (especially with the dull run-in period :thumbdwn: )

I'll look into the scotchgard -hadn't thought it was so easy to do myself. And Denis, in reply to your question, the run-in advice was just from the forums that I looked through today. Seemed to make sense, and I can let the brakes bed in for the first couple of hundred miles  .

What run-in behaviour are you going for lulu?

:) Hi there, got mine yesterday, and because, furby is magic blcack had the whole car done in supagard from the dealer, he wanted 250 to do the whole car, or 100 to do the inside only, dut we had a couple of games of tidley winks best of three and he did the whole car for 150, goo deal i don't know but felt as if i got something out of it...............but it will be a must for the inside. Tthey give you a small customer after care pack as well, a mate at work has his cars done in it and said it is very good, time will tell. website on pack www.supagard.com :)

Ah, I've always been rubbish at tiddly winks, and as we had already screwed him down to our max advantage we weren't able to get such a good deal as you. Thanks for the link though, I'll check it out....

What run-in behaviour are you going for lulu?

I'm just following the common sense approach of revs below 3000 and not exceeding 70 for the first few hundred miles. Dealer said run-in wasn't necessary but handbook outlines a general approach. Seems to make sense for a new engine.....
