Exactly, your car looks great so it's always going to get attention. Mine is more subtle. My Greenline II is a LOT more subtle than both. :D

hmmm im still iffin n arrrin bout getting this lsd done, will i benefit with it on normal everyday roads?no track days though

But then it's not really fast is it, end of the day it's only a 220bhp (or thereabouts) car.

You drive it quickly, doesnt mean it's fast. :)

Your forgetting it's a diesel, 220bhp in a diesel is impressive and quick. What about his 350 of torques??

mk2 fabia's look ****

i love my car, just needs to be faster

if there is this much free cash to upgrade to the point you have why don't you just get a higher powered car to begin with, after all its going to be how many thousands of pounds spent on a skoda.....

when you could have just got a better platform to begin with, bmw audi etc

i think a 13 second car is considered fast tbh. embarrased tons of fast cars today on track, evos, scoobies, etc. im confident that 9/10 times i can go out for a drive and not see a faster car, its rare to come across something quicker in day to day driving. im not saying its fast fast, im used to bikes so it feels slow, but as cars go i think most would consider it to be fast. im told all the time "wow man ur car is rapid" etc.

cus i like my car???

just got back from castle combe, lsd transformed the car tbh, it felt soooo planted. absolutely love driving the car now and well worth the money IMO. got past a lot of faster cars today too, scoobies and evos twitching on exiting corners, understeering/oversteering trying to get traction and the vrs just pulls past them, weird lol. didnt get it video it in the end though, batteries in grahams gopro were flat :(

What was your terminal speed on the 13s 1/4 mile?

What was your terminal speed on the 13s 1/4 mile?

not been down a 1/4 yet, but Ross got a 14.1 and i beat him, so should get 13's

going next week so we'll find out!

So much I've missed on this forum in the last few years, some nice cars.

Roughy how much is a 1.8T conversion going to cost in a vrs ?

£5k+ got no idea ???

Some people prefer something a bit different.

Personally I could have just got an Audi S3, but there is something about having a car that's different... and blowing away real sports cars in a front wheel drive diesel Skoda five door hatchback. :giggle:

Yesss!! 100% agree with this. That's what I like to hear. :)

That status should be next to your signature.

Luke make sure you get your run slip up :)

To go to 300-340bhp using Darkside Developments it's pretty much £6k. The only thing I can sell is my turbo (maybe £700)

If I go 1.8T it should be less (depending how mad I go with the engine) but also I can sell my old engine too as that's perfect

And in the long term... Lots more capable out of a 1.8T 20v. Generally you don't see many 300bhp+ 1.9 TDI's, but LOTS of 300-400bhp+ 1.8T's

and I'm sick of black smoke, clean car, drive, 10 miles you can write your name in the back. it's just sickening and have let the paint work go big time cus i just take it to hand car washes every other day spending £5 each time just to keep it looking reasonable... one fast drive and shes filthy again though.

jealous of my mate in a 260bhp white 1.8T (polo) racing all night and coming home with mint paint, no soot etc.

once you go past a similar set of mods to what you've currently (hybrid turbo and a map) got it's not cheap with a 1.8T and how driveable is it going to be? the current smoke is down to mapping and pushing certain things a bit far.

Well 300bhp in a 1.8T is easy and very drivable, so may just go for 300-350bhp for now but ideally want 400bhp+

and yeah i know i can get it to smoke less if i went gtb but lots of money for a max of 300bhp. sooner have options to continue to 450bhp+ if i want it i guess

But surely the levels of smoke you're getting is just unburnt fuel?

Maybe better injectors and mapping will eliminate this?

Mine puffs a bit at maximum power but I was surpised how much yours is puffing on the track day video, so I can understand why you are getting cheesed off.

I guess it depends what you want from the car, if it's just maximum power I can see the attraction of the 1.8t. But I'd have thought you can remove the smoke much cheaper.

Bossfox, I'd be real interested in seeing how much smoke your car makes compared to xa0sx's. Are there any videos of your car floating around that you know of or have? I believe xa0sx's smoke is part and parcel of spooling the turbo up, so to bring the boost on quicker...

Not yet.

But there might be if I actually get the thing back for Santa Pod this coming Saturday, it's at Jabbasport at the moment.

As I'm not technically minded I'm not sure how passing unburnt fuel through the engine could bring the boost in quicker, I thought most soot was generated when fuel was injected into the cylinders late into the piston cycle.

In day to day driving it doesn't smoke at all, just when I us the last 20% or so of the performance. Which from what I gather is this late injecting of fuel people are on about. But as I said, not being technically minded it's only from info posted on briskoda.
