Did a bit of searching and came up with these pics which funnily enough are the better pics in the same batch of pics on the web.

Disabled driver with a stunning car.

Doubt it as there's going to be a cap on purchases of over £25k.

I would grass him up, the car is not even taxed.......and it hasn't got a number plate, shocking!

As pretty as an X6. Or a Ssanyong Ugly.

Mind, Ssangyongs are prettier:

The first non official picture hood up:

Range-Rover-Evoque-Convertible-01.jpg

Looks just as awful as I had imagined.

I am pondering whether this is worse or the PT Cruiser Convertible:

At least the PT Cruiser was very very cheap!

PT Cruiser now makes sense.

All to thier own, but thank God these forums are mostly viewed by Skoda drivers.

The Evoque makes any Skoda current model look ancient and quite honestly how the Yeti gets a mention in comparison is daft to say the least. :giggle:

The Evoque is a bit of a puzzle, initially I thought they looked ridiculous but I sat in a friends one and you know what - I quite liked it.  Given the choice of this or an X3 or Audi Q? I think it would be the Evoque.  I know they are a bit 'fashiony' and shouldn't work but sometimes unattractive can still be sexy.

I've said too much.

I disagree. It's better looking and much more practical. But each to their own and at least the Evoque is keeping British people in jobs.

Everywhere I turn I see one. They look nicer in 3dr.

That convertible is hideous. Apparently they are planning a Range Rover one too. Well you have to keep the 1% (or rather their wives) from getting bored don't you! Will be seen outside a prep school near you in the very near future! :)

Hopefully they wont be driving these then

@jonny boy I'm not being absurd but I do prefer the Yeti to the Evoque as i like bull**** free cars. I would much rather have a bells and whistles 170 bhp Yeti and a couple of nice holidays than the Evoque tbh. As I said in an earlier post if I really wanted to push the boat out I'd go for a new X3. It has a better engine, an amazing 8 speed auto box and is more practical. It is a car that does what it is meant to do bloody well and is not some poncy style statement (as does the Yeti): each to his own I guess.

Interesting.

I've yet to read a bad review of the Evoque, which seems to manage being a "poncy style statement", whilst also being a very capable car on and off road.

Just as an example, look at the Top Gear reviews for both....

http://www.topgear.com/uk/bmw/x3/road-test/2.0d-se-driven

http://www.topgear.com/uk/land-rover/range-rover-evoque/road-test/ed4-prestige

The X3 gets a 6/10, the Evoque a 8/10.

Or look at Evo magazine

http://www.evo.co.uk/carreviews/evocarreviews/260251/bmw_x3_xdrive20d_se_review.html

http://www.evo.co.uk/carreviews/evocarreviews/270685/driven_range_rover_evoque_diesel.html

3.5 stars for the X3, 4.5 for the Evoque.

I'm certainly reading nothing that says the Evoque is just a style statement.

I'm giving you my personal opinion. The X3 is more practical, has a more powerful engine and a brilliant 8 speed auto. I'm not a fan of Top Gear Mag. I can see where evo are coming from and it is prolly true that the Evoque better meets their criteria. However as a practical all rounder give me a Yeti or an X3 or even a Freelander. Or maybe if I wanted to be left field a Hyundai Santa Fe with 195 bhp and 322 lb ft. I'm afraid I am more an Autocar boy when it comes to reviews. The only mag whose opinion I value.

+1

Plas CAR magazine of course.

The lowest of the low (especialy towards Škodas) is WhatCar of course. That rag is to be avoided at all costs.

Whatever your 'criteria' is that's your choice. I quite like the Yeti as well.

But let's not be silly and talk looks.

The interior of the Evoque is absolutely stunning as well. The Yeti is light years behind, period.

It's these types of threads that make Skoda owners sound rediculous and do everyone else no favours.

yes but the Yeti with absolutely everything and the 170BHP engine is £22K. The Range Rover Evoque fully kitted out is pushing £40K which is ridiculous for a re-clothed Freelander. I respect your opinion but there no way I'd pay that sort of premium over a Yeti for a bit of bling.

There are those that will though: you pays your money....

:)

+1 but then I'm a bit biased! And I paid for my fully loaded Yeti just as much as a base Evoque with hardly any toys would have cost me...

No this will be for the 2012 version of the Banana Splitz.

Not sure why this is drifting off into how sheite the convertibles look

I'm still of the firm view that the Evoque, especially in 3-door form, looks absolutely stunning, and about as close to a road-going concept car as any manufacturer has achieved so far

TBH I cannot see why we are comparing the Yeti with the Evoque, it's in a totally different league. I've driven both and the Yeti just looks dated both inside and out in comparison. The Evoque oozes quality whereas the Yeti is just a cheap 4x4. Don't get me wrong the Yeti is a good car for the money, nothing more.

PS I drive a Freelander 2 SD4 GS all day over all sorts of terrain so know the score.
