  • whatever ! Saying the Yeti is better looking is absurd. I don't like Victoria Beckham either but let's not make Skoda owners seem like complete idiots by comparing the Evoque to a Chrysler e

  • Whatever your 'criteria' is that's your choice. I quite like the Yeti as well. But let's not be silly and talk looks. The interior of the Evoque is absolutely stunning as well. The Yeti is light ye

Saw a 5 door on the road today. Apart from the fact it was white it looked amazing. But they are amazingly expensive.

Under endowed footballers car.

??????

Base model - 150bhp 2.2

0-60 - 10.2 secs

Economy - 47.1 urban, 62.8 extra urban, 56.5 combined

I'd be happy with that, and it makes a Yeti look like an ugly duckling ;)

I thik they look brilliant, i'm trying to persuade my boss to get the five door one.

Am I the only one drooling over this?

Yes.

it starts at £28k considering it will hold its value around the same if not better then yeti, it is not that expensive

That is not quite right if you look at the comparative loses though.

A 16k Yeti holding 40% value over 3 years will still lose a hell of a lot less in value that a 28k Range Rover Evoque holding 50% of it's value over the same period.

It may retain a higher percentage of it's new cost, but it loses 14k while the Yeti loses 9.6k.

People often forget this with premium brands. They may hold a higher percentage, but they are so expensive new you still lose a lot more in terms of real value. Depreciation on a decent 40k Range Rover Evoque over three years will buy you a decent Yeti outright!

I like the Evoque, it's a good car. And being built in the Jag factory alongside the Freelander 2 should mean it suffers with less bad build quality than the other Land Rover models. But for a decent one with a few options ticked you'll be lucky to get any change from 40k. No discounts, so plan on losing about 20k in three years.

For the same 40k you can buy a two year old "Full Fat" Range Rover. The proper one, that cost nearly 70k new. Which is not only very nice, increibly well speced and more "premium", but it'll also lose value slower being two years old already. That is where my money would go... and previously has. (twice)

I won't mention the Range Rover Sport as that's just a tarted up Disco for footballers. :giggle:

Last point: From the people I know the Evoque is really struggling to meet it's claimed economy figures. They are not so efficient as Land Rover say. (like some Skodas...)

Nope! [fap fap fap fap fap fap....] :p

Saw a transporter load of the 5 door versions. Looked like they were normal range rovers that had suffered an unfortunate accident involving a very fat bloke.

There was a dealer at springfields in spalding last Sunday with a 5 door and 3 door. I quite liked then but I'd put my money on the 3 door. It just worked for me! :)

Yeh I quite like them.

Saw one going round the ring last week.

Was being driven pretty sedately though!

Nope Bry, I love them, seen two on't road, a white one and a silver one. Both lady drivers, not sure if that's going to be their primary demographic.

What gives you that impression?

Victoria Beckam being involved with some interior styling? :giggle:

Saw a red one today on the M2, looked ok.

I would still have a FFRR.

There was a carpark full of them at the southampton boat show, and i think they look really good, especially the 3 door.

Soo much better than the freelander.

Saw one today at a services which looked fully loaded. Was certainly getting attention as parked in a space right by the doors.

Yes.

Methinks there are quite a few comments on here which say otherwise :D

Nice looking cars and strongly believe that LR have developed a winner.

Judging by the volume of conquest sales at a number of dealerships I've visited they are shifting well despite the current climate.

It's nice but I think if I was going to spend that money on an SUV it would be the new BMX X3 2.0d with the 8 speed auto. It's said to be brilliant.
