Another Strange Add-on from SuperSkoda

Unfortunately I didn't get one, RH!

A thought for Eccleshill. (no offence taken or meant, by the way)

How much is a LR Defender? A lot more than the price of a Yeti, but would you feel the same about that? To me there is very little difference. I buy a car to do things I do in my hobbies as well as to get me to work, preferably in comfort. If I didn't think it could do it I wouldn't have bought a Yeti. So far it has done everything I have put it to.

Mud actually isn't a problem. Yes it is sticky and messy, but as long it is removed wet and not scrapped off it does very little damage, and possibly even provides some protection from what is a bigger problem, that of stones. Before I had the films fitted to the back doors they were pock marked! Luckily I rarely get above 30 mph so you can route yourself away from the bigger ones.

For WRGB I'm the Mid Stage Safety Officer, so if there are any incidents in the second half of the stage I have to follow the Rescue and Recovery crews in, to provide support and communications, so will have 2 different frequency radios plus a bit of other gear as well. Could be fun!

I have no reservations about taking any 4x4 offroad. My Disco did when it was two weeks old.

(and I took my Full Fat RR Vogue trialling too)

I'm looking forward to November next, as I've just found out my job on WRGB on the Crychan Stage!

Mine has often been as mudy as this, and on tracks worse than this and it is only a 2wd!

You don't have to have 4wd to use the car off the tarmac as long as you keep within its capabilities, which as it has the same ground clearance are exceptional compared to normal cars which I have had to use before.

None taken! My thoughts about taking a £20k vehicle into "extreme" conditions was purely personal. I used to do that stuff in the Dales on a trail bike in the 80's and 90's. 15-20minutes hosepipe on the KMX and a shower for me soon had it back to normal! It isn't the mud but more the stuff that lurks beneath - rocks, branches etc. After costing £600 to repair a minor scrape on my rear quarter (ouch!) when my stone gatepost moved I really would struggle to travel down anything more than a moderately rutted dirt track. Just call me a wimp! :(

When it comes to replacing the Octavia in a couple of years the Yeti is at the top of the list - time will tell whether an off-road excursion will be more than parking on the grass verge :)

I did notice in another post (was it rockhopper? - the one with the photo of "REARRANGED ROVER" edit No! Sorry FocusZetec! This one http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/214446-my-yeti-mixing-it-with-the-big-boys/) that the 10 reg Yeti did stand out somewhat amidst the 15-20yr old Land/Range Rovers and Jeeps.
