to fool the system into thinking it has a normal bulb there these are the values of resistors you need, get somthing as close to the value as possible.

21W bulb = 6.8 ohm 20w or higher

5W bulb = 28 ohm 5W or higher

Do not go lower on the wattage an keep in mind that the 20W will get warm, but as it is only on the reverse/brake it should be not too bad as these should not be on that long

@jjc: thanks for informations ;-)

@vw dan 1986: for the moment I don't have time to do the test, but if you put the right resistor on the right cable, that should be good. Three resistors per tailight.

Any superb mk1?

With the use of VCDS / Ross-Tech cable & program, the lamp warnings could be disabled very easily. I have a VW Jetta that has a mostly LED cluster for the rear lights. Lamp checking is disabled for most of the lights (except rear fog & reverse which are halogens). With a few clicks, the lamp warning could be disabled on Skodas with replacement LED lights.

yes, but i think this is not possible on the octavia :'(

maybe in the future.

These are so fake its unreal. China Skoda or not, they have no resitors built in (Do Skoda China really code the bulb warning out just to fit LED lights? VW and Audi have them with the bulb warning working, what is the difference here?), they have exposed wiring and circuitry (very cheap looking at that) and i don't believe that the VW badge is stamped like that in items (although willing to be corrected on this one).

China is renowned for flogging fake everything including cars (BMW X5, Mini, Bentley, Yeti etc etc) so a set of lights is nothing for them.

+1! They are crap!

Look like copies unfortunately, i doubt Skoda would leave the circuit board shown to the elements, my genuine bmw lights from hella were LED and all enclosed you never seen any of its working, a simple plug was all that was there no wires etc. Not for me cheap chinese rubbish.

Just what a said ages ago and no one bothered, i can spot a fake a mile off.

AVOID!!

Hi,

It is only proposition and no obligation. . .

So, I know a little more about china than many of you. . .and it is no like you imagine. . .

I'm not here to fight with you...

If you want to close these discussion. . . do it. . .no problems. . .

shouldent there be a kite mark on the pastic caseing for uk mot law,

IIRC they now have to be "E" marked to be "legal" in the UK, technically so should all your bulbs, but I'd like to see a tester extracting every bulb to check that!

To be fair there is nothing in the MOT test that asks the tester to actually look for E-Marks.

Motoring law is crazy in the UK. Since 1986 all cars must have E-Marked lights to be road legal. However there is no requirement at all for an MOT tester to actually check.

You aren't wrong there mate! That's why I didn't say they were needed to pass an MOT. Big difference between "regulation" and an MOT. You only have to build a kit car to expose that mine field :wall: !
