GT4 Nurburgring

Featured Replies

Has anyone driven this track in the game and real life. I drove the game in a lotus elise 111R and its amazingly skittish around the sweeping bends.

I noticed that theres bumps everywhere too, is this right too?

Love the representation of it in the game - especially the really long 2 mile straight - got my 340bhp golf GTI Mk5 up to 161mph there :)

What cars have people got and what percentage completion after 1 legitimate day of ownership?

I haven't been but i have been told it is almost 100% accurate down to every last bit, as are the cars..... Managed a 8:10 last night in a Merc E55AMG tuned to the MAX !

I managed 8:35 in said golf :) Downforce up a bit too

I'll tell you how good it is after my trip there over Easter.

Let me know, when you come

The real track is very bumpy, although I have yet to see the representation of the track in GT4.

Manny, believe me the representation of it can put some british roads to shame on the worst-bumpy stakes :)

Carsten - have you playted GT4 with the 'ring yet?

I managed an 8:41 in the standard Caterham Fireblade - that was my first lap though so could probably come down a bit.

Only managed a couple of hours play yesterday but have now completed 1.2%, with a tuned FTO and the above Caterham which I can't race with because it is a 'special' car!

It wont let you race the caterham?! Good job i didnt buy one then.

I've worked out that at a rate of 3% completion every 5 hours, works out to 167 hours of play :)

Still working my way through the licenses, going to put in a big stint on it tonight, haven't got any cars............don't have GT3 to transfer stuff over, so starting from scratch

It's a very good representation of the real track.

seems pretty accurate.. i did 8.55 in octy last time out.

First lap in a Standard '92 Mitsi Evo GSR was 9:15. Didn't think it was too bad. Gonna try again now it has a few extras on it. :D

oh god i hated the E55 my best is 8:02 in a stock M3

got to arcade u can drive the ring from the start

Arcade mode laptimes mean nothing... you have to play in GT mode for the full physics model to be active.....

7.55 in 94 preza..

Unfortunetally noz ... If I have got the time, I

Think I died 5 times on my first lap in Arcade mode.

I have died countless times in a lotus hitting a bump and just losing general control. Its astonishingly hard to not die. Best i've managed so far is dying 2 times in a Tommy Kaira ZZ-s.

I am using it as a track guide because i'm awful at learning maps, so i want to learn what comes where rather than a gospel representation of bumps, camber, grip etc.

ffelan - are you sure that the physics model isnt fully active in arcade mode? I'm pretty sure the only major difference is the setup of the gameplay rather than the physics?

Managed a 7:58 in a 600hp M5. I will have to practice lots to get a quick lap in though. Found the 80's RUF turbo suprisingly easy to contol although i was still 8 mins plus !?!?

Ah well i will have to go on it tomorrow and get some practice in...

T-5, When you drove the 80's Ruf was the engine really really quiet (i guess because its in the boot).

Is there a way of adjusting it so you can hear the engine more? I already turned the music down, couldnt concentrate!

Ok, mates ... my nose is long enough now... Curiosity drags me to town now to get the game finally.

I guess my girlfriend might be informed about a "visit" we have to do today or tomorrow.

Perhaps my stepbrother has some handball matches ahead this weekend, so the PSII could be borrowed.

Otherwise I have to confiscate it

I have found that most cars are quite quiet, although i went into one of the menu's and adjusted the music during racing to '0'. If you look behind you while accelrating you will find you hear the engine quite nicely. The ultimate noise though is the M5 - sounds just like an F1 car !

Carsten, you won't regret it

Just found out a little secret...

Free Horsepower

When you buy or win a new car, take it for an oil change. After the oil change, your car's horsepower will increase.

I dont really like cheats, but this just seems like good vehicle maintenance :D
