After lowering, you should really have your tracking/alignment/geometry done.

IF the camber needed adjusting (which 99% wont) you can get shims to adjust.

if the front suspensions anything like the mk1 then you wont be able toadjust the front camber unless you buy adjustable top mounts or something, just live with the wear lol like all modding you dont get something for nothing

Despite no adjustment there are ways to make it even with subframe adjustment and then adjust toe accordingly. Get proper place to look at it.

i had my tracking / alignment check about 2 weeks after lowering and it was out. Although they couldnt adjust the back and it looked like the rear passenger side was at -2 degrees anyway.

I would always say get it checked a few weeks later anyway. I dont think it would looked good on the floor (TBH I really really HATE cars that are stupidly low), just a sensible drop (and I would say -40 is a sensible drop)

Just a lil update! Given it a good wash, after being in London for 2 weeks!

It's already got 2 car park dinks by the person who parks next to me so I've made an insurance claim on the damage.... *grumble*

I always make sure I park as far away as possible to anyone...but I'm even more anal about it now!

So here's my boy! Looking forward to getting some springs next week! 55 front and 40 drop on FK's by a local garage up the road. :D

Lookin' good mate.

Is it worth going the insurance rate for that damage though? Just get a local dent specialist to pull them out for you?

  • Author

The ins has been approved, so its coming from the person who did the damage in the first place.

They have accepted the claim I just need to wait to get a quote now.

:)

Ah right, well at least that's something!

Looking good, will be nice with the spring fitted :)

The car looks sweet B)

Thanks Ad & Chloe! it'll look sweeter next week...I hope :D

It will look good as the fabia's are far too tall as standard, are you changing the dampers as well as the springs cos 55mm is a lot?I was considering changing springs and dampers and that was for a small F30 R20 drop its the £550 that's the stumbling block for me?

I'm sure they come with shocks! In the display pic they had shocks! and I've googled images of others and they came with shocks....!

lol, not i am waiting to see what this looks like with them on.

Although I spent £175 on a set of coilies for my Polo estate - bit bouncy though so i am not sure i'd get em again!

Ahh these are just springs and shocks. Probrably half the price! :p

However... I hope that they will be acceptable at lease, people seem to be happy with them on Passat, Audi, and other forums, just not as popular as H&R, Koni, etc... we will see!! only 4 hours til I go and pick the car up after work! woopee!! :D

it's stoped the nose dive while breaking, the cornering feels a lot more precise and pointy than previously.

I've got to say, it's not bouncy, nor rock solid. Got to give the FK's credit for the sub £100 mark!!! and as far as I am aware minimum warrenty is 2 years, or lifetime.

Corners great, though now in south east london, I need to yet find a decent bit of road!!! :D

I hope you guys like it!!?? I know it's not a massive drop, but itll be good for me, 55 front and 40 rear...couple of days to settle in.

:D

looking good, with a 55/40 drop the car now sits like it should have when it was built, just highlights how high the suspension is as standard.

Yeah, it's completely settled the ride, I actually thought the previous ride was rather bouncy and crashy on some speed bumps or pot holes, but it's given it a more refined rubbery feel when coasting along, and when you go to turn in it holds the corners really well :)

I'd say the difference between my old Koni's on my old Fabia their just as encouraging to turn into a bend and give it some beans!
