At least you're unlikely to get people trying to buy your paint off you!

Factory fit lights must be much better than aftermarket considering the hassle of fitting them...

Haha!

Yeh most definitely, plus you get the washer jets and pre cut bumper. And I'm not really sure how the auto levelling sensors function? Whether it taps into existing sensors, or whether that's another job if you want to do it all legit.

  • It's been a looong time since I've updated this. But in fairness I haven't really done anything with the car. Done a few motorway miles this summer, and the front was looking a little chipped. So ha

  • I bought my vRS from new with added factory options of: Gas discharge headlamps (xenons), six cd changer under the passenger seat and cruise control. Like most cars available with options i.e. prett

You wheels look rank, but it's an each to their own thing :)

As said above - those seats aren't factory leather, they do look like the Seat Surgeons did them - I think they look great, especially with the badge in the correct place - so often with leather retrims the vRS badge ends up much higher on the seat and looks wrong.

Sat nav must be the rarest option for sure. Maxi-dot wasn't available without the sat nav, although lots of people fitted the same (MFD) sat nav from the Superb as they were widely available for £250 or so, but obviously no maxidot display.

You definitely have the "air bag deactivation" option, it gives you a switch in the glove box.

I'd try and retro-fit heated seats if it was mine - it takes up another 2 dash blanks - I hate blank switches!! Also, cruise control is a cheap thing to retrofit. Don't bother trying to fit ESP though emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

Enjoy your car mate, it looks lovely. Sensible miles too!

I bought a brand new Fabia in 2005, black magic with xenons, cruise and heated seats, and it was one of the most "specced up" ones around for sure. I had to wait months for it! As said, 90% of Fabia vRS's are completely factory standard with just the black magic paint being paid for as an option.

The VERY early Fabias were available with a winter pack which was heated seats and heated washer jets but they were soon discontinued as an option. You could also spec electric rear windows on the first ones, but I've never seen a car with them fitted.

Thanks Tom,

Yeh it has airbag off, via glovebox key switch.

I'm very much the same, hate blank switches! Retro fit heated seats is a good call, I may look into this! B)

very nice find ive never seen a vrs with maxidot display and sat nav before lol. Unit 18 retro fitted cruise control for me Ali is the top lad to see and he does it at a very good price too

looks nice mate. leathers look good, i prefer the full blacks but there certainly not "rank"

Looks very nice mate, well done

Keep us up to date with the mods

Very nice spec mate, possibly one of the best specs on here. Ignore the hater, seats look great. And aslong as your happy

Mmmm I'm pretty sure this was meant to be friendly banter! :S could be wrong thou but doubt it :)

Awesome car mate, seats look awesome as does the rest of it.

When I had my 2004 seats trimmed the dealer checked about heated seats - but apparently that would have meant changing the whole seat - at least to get skoda heated seats - not feasible financially...

Lovely car and options list, great find, I wanted xenon headlamps also but at the time I was looking, there were non available. They do seem to be rare as hens teeth. As somebody else mentioned it seemed like alot of people bought them standard.

I have seat surgeons leather in mine and yours does look similar, mines all black with perforated leather in the middle of the seat and green stitching and vrs logo in centre of seat. I think your seats are nice and a nice change from the norm. Shall look forward to any updates.

Pretty much exactly how I'd have mine if I had the choice. Black, green stitching, centre perforated and cross stitched.

Tonight I've bought:

D2s 6000k bulbs

Heat resistant LED sidelights

Chrome front and rear indicators

LEDs for interior lights

LED for glove box light

LED for boot light

LED fogs.

This along with my H7 HID kit takes care of all the bulbs.

You'll have fun with the glovebox light ;):giggle:

They have a habit of exploding into pieces when you change the bulb.

Do it somewhere where you'll easily find the springs etc when they

ping across the room.

Any links for the LED bulbs- quite fancy doing this but there's bloody loads of LEDs on the Market! :(

Thanks

I've already removed the glovebox light, definitely gunna be a but of a task to refit!

I'll try sort some links out tomorrow for you mate, am off my laptop now.

I tried LED sidelights earlier this year - gave up after two failures in quick succession - on bulbs recommended on here - which have you bought?.

Interesting you're looking at LED Fogs too - I discussed that around a year ago but we seemed to get nowhere - no one admitted to having them - so let us know how it goes.

Ive pretty much changed all the lights in my interior for l.e.d ones. Have to say the glovebox amused me, because it wouldnt come out far enough on mine to make it workable. I would highly recommend just taking the glovebox off. Its a easy peasy to!!

I've updated the above list with links for you guys.

Sidelights I always get from UltraLEDs. I've found cheap eBay ones to fail over time here, could be down to heat from HIDs. That's why I bought the ceramic ones that are designed to cope with heat.

Yeh I had LED fogs in my old car. With projector lamps the actual primary use of fog lights becomes redundant, so colour matching becomes more of a priority over the functionality.

Yes I agree with removal of the glovebox to change the bulb! I did it to relocate the bluetooth wire, so will definitely be doing this.

Pics once you've fitted them all would be great and thanks for the links :)

Few small updates.

Fitted all my bulbs.

Here's some before an after, excluding the boot and glovebox. I have the fogs waiting to fit also, as they've only just been delivered.

The ballasts for my full beams are mini ballasts, so fit perfectly in the bay. I've discreetly screwed on onto the side of the battery housing, and one on the back of the headlight housing.

Also, I was having problems selecting 6th gear. So had a mate reset my gear linkage to find it's silly loose. There's horrendous amounts of play on the selector shaft, the rod it hinges on has worn. It's a fairly unheard of problem with VAG cars, and this is the second car I've had the same issue with!! Also, the previous owner must have known about it, and attempted top fix it with a new shaft, and in the process, broken the tabs securing the air box and battery surrounds and lid, so will have a poke around some breakers to get all these replaced. As for the shaft, that'll be a warranty repair, don't fancy dishing out £450 for new shaft, rod plus labour!

Whilst we were after it, I had the beep sound enabled for lock and unlock, the silent treatment was rather annoying.

I was browsing Seat Surgeons website tonight, and discovered that mine have indeed been retrimmed by them. I recognised the logo as soon as I went on their site (my seats have a tag with their logo on at the back). Pretty sure they use mine in their gallery also. Listed as black and silver nappa leather.
