Thanks!

There's a different style of retrim I've had my heart set on for a while, so am selling them to partially pay for another retrim early January!

It'll be a belated Christmas present to myself :)

Sounds like a plan :-)

Glad you're changing the seats, they really let the car down

Here's some more pics of the dash vents for those who asked:

Apologies they're not great, but I was in a rush and my main camera is packed for a job tomorrow!

Few randoms from my phone also.

Here's my EGR valve prior and post cleaning:

Clay bar after a couple of panels last week:

Still waiting to go on :(.

I'm waiting for my bushes to be delivered before they go on. Debating on new top mounts also whilst I'm at it. Are they really prone to failure though? The car is on 70k......

Gave the wheels a clean and wax today, so the exterior is officially ready for winter. The rear door seals seem to holding also!

On order: new aero wipers (current ones sound like a banshee), and metal foot plate to match the pedals. Pressed plates soon to come too.

Leather seats are sold next weekend, and I'ver booked Seat Surgeons for the 10th January for a retrim B) Just need to confirm designs details over the phone.

Fitted this today also:

Mid job:

Works a charm and lets me use my CD changer also! Happy days.

Other jobs are the cards are a full detail. My polisher died on the last car I did, hoping Santa brings a new one, gives me something to do over the Christmas holiday!

Nice to see somebody else using the X Car Link adaptor. I've had mine for about a month now and it's great.

Where are you keeping the leads you plug into? I fitted an Elegance drawer but it was too small to fit my i phone in and became a PITA so I got rid of it in favour of the shelf. Did you go for the bluetooth?

Loving the dashboard surrounds, makes the car a look a little more 'up market' if you get me. How did you get them off?

Your EGR looked filthy! I took mine apart and mine was pretty clean so didnt have to scrub much lol.

What design for the seats are you going for dude?

I'll be sorry to see mine go but it's time to embrace a twin-charged engine, maxi-dot display and access to a large portion of my music collection in the car rather than just a slice of it (MDI)!

Not sure what MDI is, but it's easy enough to have a hard drive full of songs on the go with an after market stereo. In fact there's a great deal more to be achieved using an after market stereo, subwoofer, amplifier, upgraded speakers etc.

Give me your sat nav

Is the carlink a 8 pin or 2x6 pin ?

I run them into the glovebox under the tray. I've got a Parrot setup so didn't bother with bluetooth.

An old flexi credit card, works a charm and doesn't damage your dash!

Yeh it was a state!

I'm going for black with green double stitching. With a quilted and perforated squared middle section.

It's a right ball ache if you don't have the right tools (which I didn't). 5 minute job once you do though.

It's the two bolts that sit vertically which will cause you problems as it's hard to get leverage. Best bet is to get a 6mm bit and tap it in, then use a 1/4" spanner to loosen it off. you won't get leverage with a standard 6mm allen key.

Place a towel underneath where you work also. As you will drop something into the engine bay at some point.

Could you maybe post up a link for that adaptor please :)

Which adaptor mate?

Looking good man, given me plenty of ideas for modifying mine

Love the maxidot. Didn't even know it was available for the Fabia at all.

Wish I could get it in mine. Would look really good with one from an Audi (with red illumination to match the rest of the dash lighting).

In regards to the Sat nav you can pick them up on ebay. I have seen them for around the £150 mark.

Few updates:

Leathers have been sold (Thanks to Phil!), rocking the cloth threads until Jan 10th.

Bought this:

3d6955b7.jpg

Had a moment of insanity and managed to snap the foot rest plate plastic hook, so I've ordered a new one.

New wipers went on

Wiper black came:

bbce089f.jpg

Got a proper glass one. Fitted this today. The windscreen has a clear lip around the hole for the wiper blade, which is annoying as it means there's a clear gap between the blank and the black screen. So I masked up the inside and painted it.

a9a48763.jpg

The blank catches the eye a lot less now. It's dark so didn't get finished pics.

Got everything together for the coil over and bushes job now.

New top mounts:

Cupra Bushes and nuts and bolts:

Powerflex front wishbone bushes:

Gunna do all this in one week after christmas.

I've also found out that Autoleads do a lead that provides me with 2 pre-outs from my existing unit, so I can hook up two amps (speakers and sub) good times!

Really like this! what you'v done is pretty much everything Iv got planned, nice and oe

Rich

Do you have the part number for the top mounts mate? And how much were they? Thanks
