Fabia Vrs Petrol Headlights

Featured Replies

I am hoping that you maybe able to help me, i have a vrs fabia on an 11 plate, with chrome head lights surrounds

The lights are completely useless in the dark, i know that sound silly, but on dipped, you can not drive above 40mph, as you cannot see the corners comming up.

Is there anyway that i can make the Headlights better, before i have an accident, driving the car in the dark.

Its going back to Skoda tomorrow to get some of the rattles looked at, has anybody else had similar issues?

I find the standard lights pretty good, I assume you've checked they're not pointing down?

I actually find the lights not too bad even with black pack. Driven cars with way worse. Light could be deeper if that makes sense

I agree with LewJo, Not found any issues, I am part of a car share group for our drive to work, and My lights are far better than the Ford Focus (Which is still fine unlit roads.)

But many on here have said there lights are dangerous! Do a quick search and you will find lots of advice about new bulbs. I think you are looking for H7 bulbs...

Here is one I just found.

Lots of people, including myself, have the same thoughts so you're not alone. Don't listen to the crazy Welsh people :p (they can see in the dark apparently)

Anyway, H7 is what you need. Most people go with Osram Nightbreakers or Phillips Extreme bulbs and they give a noticeable improvement

It's a job you can do yourself and if you have small hands it's a doddle.

Indeed! that's how I would describe it. It just doesn't have enough range.

I'm use to it now but would like it to be a bit better.

One thing though is for sure though, with projectors soon as you hit high beam the world lights up!

I think the technical jargon for beam attributes is Throw and Spill.

and yes, setting the beam angle correctly is important as it will effect your beam pattern range.

Of corse we can ;) the council in Newport must agree as they've switched off all the lights on roundabouts on the main route around Newport. Left them on for the straight sections of road mind you.

Thanks, for the help, hopefully after changing the bulbs i will be able to see

Don't think this applies to the gogs though. Seboni spent a few hundred quid changing all his bulbs and he still isn't happy. Could be his age though. As for comparison I was in a friends Clio (old shape) last night and the lights were awful. I actually had to ask him if his lights were even on

Just to let you know : Volvo are dropping the C70 due to it not being popular enough (got way better options in the list tbh ;) ).

As covered in the other current post about lights. Upgrade the bulbs and get the aim checked and adjusted for optimum throw. You can do it yourself with care, just make sure you don't dazzle

One more thing If I may add,

I also made the mistake and bought some "no-name" H7 super bulbs with Xenon gas inside believing they would make a difference. Well, after fitting them I can't really understand If I have the stock ones or the new ones, they are practically the same as far as depth is concerned.

So, 20 Eur thrown away the first time, this time I will go straight for Philips Xtreme 100% bulbs at around 30-35 EUR. They may cost almost double but they are said to do the job. My point being, don't consider saving yourself a few euros (or pounds) and going for some Ultra H7 ebay ones that have been mentioned cos you'll just throw your money away. Go straight for Philips Xtreme or Osram nightbreakers from the first time.

So, just to clarify, these are the best bulbs to get if you feel the standard bulbs are gash. These (the Philips bulbs) are good for MOT's and don't need any special fiddling?

EDIT and these H7's are no good for MOT, or am I wrong about that?

Get he Philips ones, easy swap, 100% legal and will pass MOT.

Are the H4 ones correct or should it be H1?

Which model Fabia?

vRS. I was this close to ordering the H4 ones off ebay then I saw this site which says they're H1's. Just making sure before I buy!

The new shape vRS is H7 my friend...

Is it? We are talking about normal, dipped headlights here aren't we, not full beam?

+1

Dipped beam on a Mk2 is definately H7

What a gash website that must be then. Actually, they even have the car down as having front fog lights which, as we all know, it doesn't have.

H7 Philips Xtreme it is then. Cheers!
