Anyone used injector cleaner in their vRS. Was thinking of putting a bottle of Wynns injector cleaner in the tank.

Just dont want to cause problems.

I bought an stp service pack, injector cleaner and diesel treatment, used the injector cleaner yesterday. Everything seems fine, been a bit more black smoke than usual but its settling down. Will use the other bottle on next fill up.

Eco max diesel. Good stuff, last about 10 full fill up's.

Unless you have injector problems, I wouldn't risk a concentrated cleaner, as the injectors are £600 EACH. The Millers stuff is fine, but only if used at the correct dilution ratio.

Are they still that price? Just wondering, as have been following the Octavia vRS TDi injector issues - have suddenly dropped from £600 to £118 each, apparently!

I occasionally use injector cleaner and the car appears to perform a whole lot better. Imaginary or real I do not know but the fluid does seem to help if used once in a while.

It says that you can double dose it for an extra boost? I'm assuming you mean anything more than this would be bad as I would double dose it at times :S

I've tried injector cleaner in the past, and not noticed any difference.

The best thing I've ever done for my car is to take it on the Cumbria meet! A few hours of hard driving and it runs better than ever.

The Millers stuff is mild, so double dose is fine now and then. Anything else is a risk, as some of the American formulas can attack certain metals and seals. The PD injector is a complex piece of kit, and best left alone if it isn't broken.

You wouldn't reccommend running this every tank then?

I have used Redex diesel injector cleaner for quite a few years and never had a problem, i always get some in when its on special offer, £2 a bottle at Asda at the moment.

Agreed, if it's not broke, don't fix it.

Fuel will be in the injector for such a short period of time, I doubt an 'injector cleaner' will do anything.

Forte fuel system treatment (yellow lid), use it when changing the fuel filter. Poor contents straight into fuel filter housing with fresh filter and let it run on that. Google it and see the reviews. Made alot of difference in my old Corsa SRi CDTi and that poor in an emptpy tank with a gallon of diesel and driven for 20 miles.
