Skoda Fabia 1.9 TDI 2005 UVO

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have recently bought a Skoda Fabia 1.9 TDI 2005 model and want to use Used Vegetable Oil in it ( has been strained). I have been reading up about this a fair amount and have been advised to dilute it with White Spirits (30ml to 1 litre) as UVO as it is, is too thick.

Does anybody have any experience in using this to run their Skoda Fabia?

Thanks in advance,

Barney.

Its a PD engine so I wouldn't go even CLOSE to it with vegetable oil, even pure from the supermarket! Those PD injectors do not like veg oil due to the pressures they inject at (as in 30,000 PSI odd!) - Please stick with diesel! (or at least say a biodiesel mix in favour of diesel)

Don't do it. Skoda were quite reluctant to allow "proper" bio into the engines. ISTR they relented to a small degree because Euro pump diesel contains a percentage of bio.

As for making bio.

Practical Performance Car mag peeps talked to this lot about it. ^^^

UVO / WVO / SVO is NOT biodiesel.

Non PD engines can use veg oil, have a look on www.vegetableoildiesel.co.uk

Don't do it.

Get a SDI instead. It'll run on straight veg oil.

I won't even put supermarket diesel in my 1.9TDI PD100, as it has up to 7% bio diesel in it! And as has already been pointed out SVO/UVO is not bio diesel.
