Why would you give your business to an organisation that tried to rip you off to the tune of
Because in the end they actually happened to save him money, perhaps?

Indeed. But why bother with an organisation that was clearly trying to scam him for another

Each insurer is pretty much the same... obviously a case of more money than sence

Oh and btw if Dealer A quoted 10' date='000 for a car and Dealer B quoted 9,000 for the same car, you go back to Dealer A and they beat it to 8,000.

Which Dealer would you buy the car from? ;)[/quote']

A point well made IMO walkie

Flux seem to have an established practice of lulling you with a good price for the first year (or maybe two) and they trying it on with a huge hike in the premium. I guess if they get away with it in 50% of cases they're doing well for themselves. I got shot of them when they did that, plus I found their reps offhand and condescending. Won't be going back...

It is the same with all insurers - they try to be competitive to get you on their books, then push up hoping you won't shop around. When you shop around you get the best deals.

I use my insurance broker, which costs me a little extra, but they sort out everything for you, which was great when I was involved in a minor bump with a Saab 900 a few years ago now. Rover 100 vs Saab 900, not just a difference in the numbers  - the lady driver was from the US, so the legalities could have been a total nightmare.

Instead, I called my broker and they sorted it all out swiftly. I am paying around 20 quid for that, but that covers all my insurance related stuff.

They've saved me a fortune on premiums. I get charged badly anyway due to my Dutch license. Due for renewal this year so that's cool ;)

With car insurance I go for the cheapest quote, no matter who it is with or how I got it that way.

If you know your rights and are up on law then you will never have a problem with car insurance companies.

With car insurance I go for the cheapest quote

at your age you would have to..

I go for the one offering the best cover relative to the vehicle.. Was LV for my skud.... but Chris Knott is the way forward now.;)

So you always buy on price? Fine. Just not everyone does. I don't think the issue is about rights or the law, it is about an overall experience.

If you had wittled your quotes down to Dodgy Danny for

Agreed other factors do need some consideration, with regards to couresty cars etc, but most insurance companies offer these benifits.

What you did 'jibe' at is phone numbers, to which you said you call them 2-3 times a year.

2-3 times a year? If thats the case I couldnt care less it it was a 0908 number

Each to there own, I do understand what you are saying and yes I would opt for an insurance company that provided a curtosy car etc and pay a little more.

But you first comment was why give your business to a company that tried to rip you off - Fair comment, but if they provide the same cover which he was happy with before at the cheapest price (even though they did try it on) then why not give them your business? You save money and carry on with an existing policy to which you have had no problems with in the past.
