Headunit Recommendations?

Featured Replies

I need a new headunit that will match the rest of my interior lighting:

It's gotta be single din. It needs to have USB via the glovebox for a USB stick and iPhone connectivity. Must charge the iPhone too via USB.

The Alpine unit I have would match your lights Luke, I have the IDA-X100 but there are newer versions now. Either blue or red buttons depending on your mood, and a blue screen. Works seamlessly with iPods and iPhones, and comes with a USB cable to route to the glove box, and will charge them too. Sound quality is top notch too

Check out ebay too, some real bargains can be had. Might be second hand, but will be much cheaper than new.

Night shot

Sony do a head unit that I brought which is fully blue led lit.

It's iPhone comparable and has both USB and AUX input capabilities.

I will get a link and link it in...

I hav a jvc avx33 which does everything, its a bit dated now but I'm sure the later models are similar with touch screen etc..

Lots of background options, else stick a music vid on :D , i have a 20gb hdd on there with films, music vids and mp3s.. else as a back up, a music vid and mp3 combo dvd... oh and if I'm really stuck for music I can bluetooth stereo it automatically from the phone... :)

nice blue clusters btw.

Alpine headunit's will be your best bet for the colour match. I have this HU in mine which I bought secondhand and it was the best £140 I ever spent. Make's the sound quality a whole lot better

Alpine CDA-9886r

And fitted in my car

I have the same it's just a shame it's not fully iPhone compatible

Now you mention it and I've had a look, seems a struggle to find anything with a rear USB input. Pioneer now exclusively have front inputs, whereas my old model has rear.

I have an alpine XDA X100 and i ran the USB cable in to the cubbyhole under the steering wheel.

That doesn't look like it'd match at all :-\

I'll get a Picture in the dark tomorrow morning but it is very blue!

Picture isn't great on the halfords page.

Charges the iPhone and also select playlists and tracks from the HU.
