will do...

Paul, Glad you had a good time. I would've popped down but SWMBO had other plans which weren't divulged to me until Sunday morning...

Memory like a sieve, we did meet one other briskodian, had a TDi.. anyone care to own up?

In the words of Shaggy, "It wasn't me!" :speaker:

Damn I wish I had some circuits down my way. I think Silverstone is about the nearest to me, and that's about 200 miles away! I guess people feel we have enough large fields to thrash around in, so we don't need proper circuits. :(

Jason,

Thruxton's closer to you (up the 303).

Don't know if they do track days, though, but there should be some regular events.

Cheers,

Howard

OK - So, when's the next Thruxton meet then?

I can picture where Thruxton is now. I remember driving past on my way to Deutschland a couple of years ago. I think its in the area of aldershot...? I'll look it up :)

edit: Andover / Aldershot - all the same to me mumble mumble mutter mutter...*

he was a geordie? thats not much help i know... as long as he was black and white not red and white...;)

Castle Coombes even nearer & they do track days, went to watch a car & car conversion day. NO WAY you would get me out with that lot, saw several needless accidents & one guy even admitted his Golf GTI was a MOT failure & he didnt give a **** if he bent it. Unfortunately a couple of people bent their cars against other peoples cars, not just the armco

Moral if you do a track day choose your company carefully

He wouldn't be a Geordie if he wasn't black and white, he'd be a Mackem.

Haway the lads!

(And it wasn't me!!!)

sorry i`m a little slow responding to the posts but it was me you were talking to. I was there showing my other car, dont laugh, a Capri. thought it was a good day and enjoyed watching the VRS do battle.

Have seen the photo`s must say looking good.

Can you do a quick write-up of how the Octy went and what 'interest' there was in it from the other drivers ?

Rob

Stuart

What kind of Capri do you own?

The Octavia went quite badly on the day - for engine management reasons documented elsewhere... and the fact that std suspension and slicks was causing some excess body roll.

having said that i wasnt holding anyone up round the bends... only on the straights was i losing out.... withthe remap beign perfected tomorrow and the coilovers on i expect to really annoy people next time out...

with regard to interest... it was more of a cautious peek under the bonnet than direct questions.. defo raised eyebrows

Dmac1969vRs the Capri i own is a 1987 280 model. This was the limite edition run out version.

I was @ croft to in the scooby, giving the cossy boys a really hard time :drive:

excellent track and and superb day.

I must give credit to ffelan as he was brave taking the skoda onto the track, especially on an rs owners club day!!

It did raise a few eyebrows and it most certainly suprised a lot of people with it's pace (wasn't the slowest car on the track).
