LPG - Conversion 2000 Pounds or less NO THANKS

LPG problems:

1 The equipment and installation cost 1500 - 2000 Pounds (when these money will start save after 2- 3 Years ?)

2 LPG need to check 1 time per Year so it not for free 30 - 100 Pounds I think will be

"for cleaning purpose (because LPG gas when circulating inside mixer left some smelly crap which need to clean at least 1 time in year" + mixer membranes as well"

3 The LPG tank goes in the back adding extra weight I saw In my country cars after 4 Year need new back suspension

+ the tank weight ? So it is reducing MPG

4 Gas 10-20 % needs more compare petrol and the price say half price now for LPG litter. So in real saving just 30-40 % vs petrol

5 LPG GAS HAVE HIGER BURNING DEGREE....... COMPARE TO PETROL My mechanic told that engine valves burning more quicker as well .... because the metal do not been calculated to LPG

6 MOT INSPECTION WILL BE AS WELL FOR LPG AND THEY NOT JUST TO LOOK THEY WILL CHECK PROPERLY EMISION

7 ANY PROBLEMS WITH LPG COMPUTER NEED TO GO TO SPECIAL GARAGE FOR ADJUSTMENT

AND THIS WILL HAPPEN AS IN THE FIRST MONTHS YOU WILL BE DRIVING 10 times

NOW OPEN EXEL AND ADD EVRYTHING TO TABLE YOU MILLAGE COST OF PETROL AND ALL COST OF LPG AND YOU WILL SEE DESEL WILL BE 10 TIMES BETTER OR SMALL ENGINE PETROL WILL DO THE SAME :)

SO ANYBODY HAVE SUPERB CONVERTED TO LPG ;)

All I can say is that you are ID&%^&T...If you newer faced with cars running on LPG then just stay quite :)

1)Read some Polish Forums about LPG in Poland about 70 % Cars are running on gass

2) probable you had very dad marks at math if you thing that it will take 2-3 year to start save money

3) Normaly tank goes into spare wheel place so no worry about any space or other things

4)If you worry abou tank weight then..then next time tell to your passengers to go by other transport because it will hert your wallet ! Another 200 kg in your car is another two litere on 100 km :):):)

5) Probable your mechanic told you about LPG system used 20 years ago...moste modern LPG systems have their own separate OIL tank and they lubricate engine

6)10-20% more is really was 10 Years ago ! with most newes sytems it is about max 10%

7) Why I have to drive Diesel if I can drive petrol engine ob LPG and pay even less then you runn diesel????

Why ? because all cars different - all engines different and some car will go forever with LPG some car will have problems from the begging

Other advantages of LPG for automotive use include a much cleaner engine, the oil remains clear for many thousands of miles. This is due to the clean burn of the LPG, so rather than change the oils and filter, only the filter need be changed, also the abrasive components deposited in the oil are reduced, thus reducing engine wear. Now for the bad news. LPG burns hotter than petrol, this leads to more, not less Nox. It's high temperature burning of air, of which nitrogen is a constituant, that creates oxides of nitrogen (Nox) so I think the calim for lower Nox is based on poor science. Spark plug life can be reduced unless 'hotter' plugs are used, although these will be less suited for petrol use. I have seen a few engines which were designed to use unleaded petrol , running on LPG and suffering valve damage due to the heat. This is why you should occasionally run on petrol.

THE BIGGEST QUESTION IS IT CHEAPER?

NEW CAR: Engine 1.8 or 2.0; Say 60 Miles = 7-8 Litter ; Per year 20 000 miles

LPG conversion price ? say 1500 2000 Pounds

20 000 / 60 (miles) = 333 Times ; 333 x 8 Litres = 2666 Litres Per Year

Price Difference

Today Prices average Petrol = 1.33 LPG= 0.74

26666 x 1.33 = 3545 Pounds for Petrol

LPG 2666 x 10 % Increase (LPG use more ) = 2932 Litres

LPG 2932 x 0.74 = 2170 Pounds

Difference 3545 – 2170 = 1375 Pounds

My calculations done in the best scenario that the LPG usage increasing just 10 %

So we can see that the Person driving 20 000 Miles per Year

FIRST YEAR DO NOT SAVE ANYTHING AT ALL BECAUSE OF THE LPG PRICE COST

I do not talking about TAXI car or Company cars making 100 000 Miles per Year

That's why I always bought a car already converted - let someone else have the cost of installation!

Just in case you did not notice its already converted the price you see is the price you pay unless you can knock them down a bit or have a trade in, so potential massive savings to be had
