Yeti rear Rattle/ clank. Does yours?

Featured Replies

There are rubber bungs on the doors that screw in and out (using your fingers), they take up any play with the door moving against the latch. Note the position and try adjusting one door at a time.

Removed the tape and adjusted the bung and the rattle still seems to have gone, so hopefully thats the end of it :)

Cheers Tom!

To disprove the theory that you should never buy the first car in a production run, my very early Yeti has never rattled or made any strange noises since day one!

Never a murmer, unless of course you forget to clip the rear seat belts properly - that is one daft area of design in an otherwise cleverly thought out car.

No rattles on my Yeti, but the wife's Roomster rattled like mad (a light plasticky rattle) on uneven road surfaces (90% of ireland's roads) - I was convinced it was the vent flaps at the rear.

Before dismantling the car I got a friend to ride in the boot to locate the noise - which seemed to be coming from a lower corner of the tailgate - and it went away if he pushed it so I thought it was related to the catch or the door spacer rubbers.

On very close inspection I saw that the tailgate and rear light had virtually no clearance at one point. There was no visible damage to the paint but a very faint trace of either paint or plastic dust at the contact point and the rattle actually turned out to be a squeak/creak from them rubbing together.

I moved the light fitting across a few mm and the rattle was gone.
