2 electrical problems

Featured Replies

Hello all

I've got two electrical questions on two different Octavias.

Firstly. My 51 plate vRS. I'm trying to fit a Clifford flashing window sticker so I'm after a earth that is switch when the central locking is used. Does anyone know where I can find one? I thought about tapping in to the led in the drivers door but it doesn't flash never has and I've replaced two locks that was giving problems but the led still won't flash.

Secondly. My dads 53 plate estate. The boot light does not work. No fault codes stored the dash shows when the boot is open and it locks fine. We are guessing a fault in the light wiring. Can anyone sugguest where to look first?

Ta muchly

Chris

I can't wait to see the flashing window sticker in action!

Both sound like microswitch issues in the drivers door & boot locks. Or maybe water ingress into the loom.

I have a new drivers door lock in my car. In my dads you always get the light on the dash to say the boot is open and goes when you shut it could that still be a micro switch issue?

For you car I wonder if you have water in the connector block in the drivers door.

For your fathers car I misread, have you checked the +12v supply to the bulbs in the boot, I think the lights are -ve switched.
