With all this talk of swapping arch liners, is no-one else just going to remove their own arch liner and chop out a hole with a stanley knife for a vent to be glued in to? Can't be "too hard" to measure out a section on the liner, chop, and glue new vent in. Also, the arch liner only has a slot and a few torx bolts holding it in.

Its what I'm going to do. I reckon a good amount of pu-flex would hold the vent in sweetly. Think I'm going to have to pop into my Audi Dealership later, if they're open. ;)

just checking jason, why cut a new liner up if you could buy a direct replacement that will fit with no cutting? ;)

Yeah, I guess. :D But I like the pikey style way this liner can be chopped up and glued in to a different liner, as per that 18turbo link. :D Seeing Josh armed with a glue gun was a little much though. Although me armed with a skeleton gun full of pu-flex might be equally worrying. :o

each to their own Jason

ill be following your route soon, will call audi tomorrow to order me a TT arch liner in. :D

Will probably go for the ibiza liner eventually, but in the mean time... :D

Incidentally, I ended up doing the mesh route because I tried to fit a different vent as below. I managed to get it to fit the arch liner pretty flush, but because it's a raised vent, it fouled the wheel on full lock. Gold star to anyone who can guess which car I butchered in the scrapyard this morning to get it....

Can't really see clearly, but even if you could, you wouldn't see much... with the wheel back on, a black hamster cage isn't very noticeable

Those brakes are far more distracting :D

Veedub/Audi parts was shut today... If I'm on holiday I guess I should expect other peeps to be as well. :o

Next time I'm in the industrial part of Exeter on work's business I'll nip in. :D

Im going to order my Seat part tomorrow from the Garage in Leeds, I just hope they know which bit im referring to this time!

At a guess it's a Rover 100/Metro 'bonnet scoop' ;)

You win! :D Thought for a moment I'd found something useful to do with a metro, silly me...

 - reason I recognise it is coz I've still got one hehehe ;)

Think that one is from the older model though, with the more square front lights.

In all fairness, it's a different class of car, but it's done well considering the 95k miles it's done, with only minimal problems (500 miles/week motorway up to the point where da Furby arrived)

Just an update...

I have now been reliably informed by seatcupra.net that the Ibiza arch liner doesnt fit onto the Fabia and would require the same modifications, apparently someone has already tried this but they chap didnt specify if he was trying it on a Skoda or not, but im guessing he was otherwise how would he know it didn't fit :(.

I'm still going to get my Seat Ibiza one and try and mod that as I feel it should be a simpler mod and may just require a bit of cutting on the new arch liner as opposed to cutting the vent out etc, I just hope the vents aren't smaller.

Guess I'll be sticking with the hamster cage for the time being then! Got to say, air flow in from the bumper looks pretty naff all told. Is there any way to increase it without cutting any holes or risking a stone through the cooler?

I guess Polyurethene (sp?) glue/sealant...came with his new rear bumper.

I gues, again, you can get from hardware stores of may be even Halfrauds.

Nice one.

Have you got it linked upto the washer bottle. If so can you still use normal screen wash.
