oh.. and nice car too

I admire your passion. When will you let it look in a way? You are going to modify her for the rest of her life?

keep on doing the good job. In some stagen I don't like it, in some stages is AWEsome. You own a workshop?

Cheers for the comments peeps and silviu4you2003 and to be honest i don't know if i'll ever just leave it in a certain way but i am happy with how it currently sits and i love my splits so don't think i'd ever get rid of them but you never know lol and i appreciate that it isnt alway to peoples tastes but then you can't please everyone :) and no i don't have a workshop but a good friend of mine does so i always have access to ramps etc for my tinkering haha

and the bora looked cool pip308,vette rims looked great and to be honest sometimes i kind of miss mine in the barricade phase

:( and look forward to seeing what you do with the octy :)

Love it mate.

That rear stance is amazing, what degree is it ?? and what size spacers are you using ??

  • Author

Jonesy I'm assuming you mean what degree of camber? In which case I havn't added any camber and the rear wheels are 9.5 wide with 225/35/18 and been Porsche fitment there on adaptors which are 25mm on the rear and the offset on the rear wheels is et52 so with the adaptor brings is down to et27 but the rear arches are pulled and flared, hope this helps :)

Yeah helps loads mate, thank you.

Looks really good mate

Is that on coilovers mate? Surely cant be its gotta be on bags lol?

Static low is the way to go hardroll

  • Author

No bags here, only air is in my tyres lol and it's driven daily :)

Lol hats off to you pal driving that low daily you must live in a very smooth area of britain :D

  • Author

I wish I lived somewhere with smooth roads but I don't think this place exists lol,I have to endure terrible roads and avoid massive pot holes, raised man hole covers, cambered roads, speed ramps, cats eyes lol, just have to be alert and on your guard and get used to banging and scraping even though most people think its stupid but each to there own :)

  • Author

Lol very good Lloyd

Hehe :)

True your probably right there pal i herd belgium is ment to be quite smooth just depends how much you love your car tho lol.. Yea is each to their own but i personaly i love low cars i had a euro'd saxo as low as yours could not drive it anywhere but it was great lol

Well a small update,I finally illuminated the vrs logo in my false floor, only been meaning to do it for about 5 years lol

DSC_0510.jpg

And a couple of pics from while back just before I took the wheels off for winter

DSC_0505.jpg

DSC_0489-1.jpg

Was forced into taking them off earlier than expected due to the wife killing a rear tyre then put the winters on and the following day killed a tyre myself on a pothole on route to work :(

I'm kind of losing heart with it now though as it requires tires, cambelt, clutch and flywheel conversion, the blue flame down pipe is blowing at the flexi,n/s/r door motor is knackered, passenger footwell is soaked and needs sorting and the paintwork is horrendous, sills are rattle canned, rear arches are cracked, filler is sinking on roof where aerial was, front bumper is scuffed to death so I think that's the main reason I'm out of love with it and if I can get motivated to sort it out the love may come back as when it's in summer mode I love it but currently I just feel like walking away and getting something like a diesel 5 series BMW and leaving it completely standard as I'm also thinking I'm getting a bit old for driving modified cars but we'll see how it goes

Sounds like you just need to off road it for a while and get all the little niggles sorted, easier said than done I know.

I've had two 530d msports, the first being an e39, remapped, de cat, lowered etc. Was a very nice not to mention quick car and did 50mpg but felt I'd ruined it so upgrade to a 2007 e60. The e60 never felt as solid as the e39, had it mapped to increase the fuel economy but it drove horrible so put it back to standard. Had factory 19s, managed to crack 1 wheel .and destroy 2 tyres on potholes! £750 for a wheel and tyre!!

All in all the e60 was a very nice car, factory upgraded stereo was awesome, only issue with it was, when it went wrong, which it did quite often, it cost an absolute fortune to sort, even just for parts!

Eventually got a company car and made the decision to get rid of the BM and keep our 2002 Octavia RS as a second car and to be honest I don't mis it. It was a very nice car but boring and as mentioned ridiculously expensive to run. At least the Octavia you can work on yourself and as it shares most parts with VW, it's cheap to keep running.

Hope this helps?

You cannot lose heart this has been and will always be the piñacle of Octavia mods

It looks stunning and you have always modified with new ideas that people follow

You and your car are on the legend board for a reason

dont suppose you have any details/pictures on your boot? like the mounting points on the side panels? i wouldn't mind to do something similar myself

  • Author

Cheers for the heads up Paul :)

was after getting an E39 before I got the octy but the spec I wanted was out of budget and of the cars in budget the octy was the car I opted for and I don't regret it,has been a fantastic car in my 9 years of ownership and honestly the best car I've owned with very few issues:D

just sometimes think that as the car is worth nothing then is there any point putting more money into it or get out and go for something different and i really like the look of the E60 even though I hated it when it first came out lol

I'll have to sort Cambelt out at end of the month cos I don't want to put it off and for it to snap and cause more problems cos then I reckon I would just scrap it lol

And cheers Clive,it's very nice of you to say but I don't think I do anything out of the ordinary

And Adam I'm sorry,I have no measurements for the boot build, just did it years ago when I had enthusiasm and just measured and made cardboard templates and offered them up and then trimmed off bits until it looked about right, just give it a go :)
