Sandy - a 2012 61 plate will be worth more than a 2011 61 plate - I'd wait until Jan to register it!

Frustrating, I know, but possibly £3-400 difference in resale value?

You'll love it whenever you take delivery

My Yeti is at Emden and was hoping to get the dealer to delay registration so I could get "12" no plate, but they ( and customer services) so has to be registered within 10 days of arrival so unless there are some delays will end up with a 2011 reg and a Feb delivery

Sadly I am afraid that a 61 reg is worth the same whether it is first registered in September 2011 or February 2012. Confirmed by Parkers and trade dealers. Skoda dealers must register and deliver cars within 10 days of receipt from Skoda (UK) so no margin for delay.

This perceived "date to value" thing only applies in the first couple of years of life. Once the car is more than a couple of years old and has a few miles on the clock the difference starts to diminish rapidly.

Agreed - and keeping a vehicle for only a couple of years is a wonderful way to lose a lot of money! Generally I keep cars for 6-7 years then when you sell the condition and service history is as important as age. 6-7 years is generally recognised design life of most new cars so by keeping to that timing you generally avoid big repair bills and reduce the cost of depreciation as far as possible when buying a new car.

I ordered a White Yeti Greenline Elegance in November and I pick it up this week from the dealers.

Ideal!

I think, looking at the waiting times I have read about, that I am one of the lucky ones.

Hopefully it will be as good as I am led to believe!!!

I'm fuming at the moment; just had an update from my dealer (motorline in Dartford)ordered my car in Sept given a provisional date of 21st January. Till the middle of December it was shown as week 50 then moved to week 1.

Today I was told week 17! If this is true that will be a May delivery, 8 months for a petrol (1.8TSI 4X4 SE+)! order is not that complicated: steel grey paint, spitzberg alloys, heated screen, off-road button and spare wheel. I've put a flea in the ear of the dealer and said not acceptable etc, just awaiting an update by the end of the week. I may well cancel the order if they can't do any better than week 17 - time will tell!

We keep hearing this story on the forum but it's not true in my experience. Our last Yeti waited about 24 days for 1st September.

I think it's dealers wanting to get cars registered and paid for...

It needs to be a "reasonable" time as far as I know. I always order so it'll arrive a few weeks before the new reg number and specifically tell the dealer I want it on an XX plate. Not had a problem yet.

:envy: got to wait til March for my Yeti due to current lease. Stock date is showing as 24th February ordered Early December. So i'm guessing delivry times are reducing.

Our Yeti has arrived to Finland. We hope to get her on the first full week of February.

The long waiting from September is nearly over.

Was supposed to get the car today. Dealer phoned that, due to sickness at the alarm fitters, I won't get it until Monday :swear:

Ordered my Yeti Greenline Elegance on November 5th, picked it up 17/1/2012.

Ordered mine 1st december now at grimsby docks

Good news the garage has informed me today my YETI has arrived yippee

On another thread Ez_lo wrote "I've just read that they have a major breakdown of computer system at Skoda plant. Preventing them from sending the already produced cars to the dealers. So even longer wait it seems"

Anybody know more?

Ordered in October, was planned for delivery week 2 but have heard nothing since.

With a delay, I must admit, but just missed the thread.

What I read was some info that Skoda plant at Mlada Boleslav experienced some serious problems with their computer system on 11.12.2011. On 14.12 some 300 trailers with ~2k Skodas were stuck there. But they are quick to give you any info as long as it is about some disasters/failures. Have not heard about Skoda since then. So probably everything went back to normal. Hopefully for you lads out there
