Further update as at 1120 hours Monday 12th - Yeti still not in the UK, might (MIGHT) get ferried across on Wednesday 14th (13 days waiting to catch a ferry!) and even that is not guaranteed! emoticon-0106-crying.gif

I now note on the Ship Tracker that the Isar Highway has been in Emden since yesterday and the Elbe Highway has just landed - fingers and toes crossed time!

Not long now could just be a great Christmas present. Mine took about 5 days from Grimsby to dealer in Manchester.

Cheers

Peter.

I did a quick look at the itinerary of these ships and none of them have been to the Port of Tyne over the last six months!

I then checked the Port of Tyne for cargo ships and nome have visited over the last month!

I've now decided to forget about ships, Yetis and Winter Rubber - I'm going to resign myself to needing spikes for my boots cos I reckon I'm going to doing a lot of walking this Christmas! :(

Hopefully it will go into Grimsby and be on its way now  , when my 110 was on its way I kept looking for ships going to Sheerness but it came via Grimsby and if I remember correctly my 1.2 took the same route even though Sheerness is nearer to the dealer :wonder: .

Don't give up hope you will soon be a yeti owner B)

Scarlet came into the Port of Tyne on the City of Sunderland from Emden for me.

When I was checking the shipping logs I noticed there were several 'City of ....' coming into the Tyne, although this was 20 months or so ago.

The plot thickens!

Hi all

Ordered mine in Feb, was told Sep initially then it slipped back to Feb 2012. Then I get a phone call a week ago to say it had arrived!

And today I took delivery of my nice black 140 DSg Yeti, the first of two in our small village!

Only driven it 9 miles so far but I do like except for there being no indication/mark on the 30 mph point on the speedo.

It can only get better!!

Yeti

Defender 90

Dexta Tractor

Welcome and glad you like it.

Some people do find the lack of a 30 indication to be a "problem". Personally I just drive at around 48 kph on the Maxidot display.

Oops!!

Must admit the speedo display was something I didnt like when I had the test drive. And little margin for errors at 30mph or 20mph with speed cameras.

Find your friendly local VCDS expert. Gizmo re-coded mine by telling the ECU it is in Australia which adds an option to the MFD display showing a digital speed read out -about 30mm in height. Your sat nav will tell you you are probably showing a speed of 33 for a real speed of 30.

30 mph = 48 kph

Simple and no need to do anything.

Cant it be configured to show mph ?

No as it appears to be compliant with a "rule" that European vehicles must show MPH and KPH. The work around is to re-code as Australian!

Cant it be configured to show mph ?

As has been said, yes, but you have to get someone (not a dealer) to reprograame the car to be Australian.

See this thread:

Doing that will give you this:

On another thread Ez_lo wrote "I've just read that they have a major breakdown of computer system at Skoda plant. Preventing them from sending the already produced cars to the dealers. So even longer wait it seems"

Anybody know more?

Ordered in October, was planned for delivery week 2 but have heard nothing since.

An answer to my own question; just phoned the dealer and the car is built and still planned for delivery in week 2.

Not hoping for a white Christmas then

I had similar thoughts but.......

We were told Yeti built Week 47 - Arrived Emden 1st Dec - Hung around at Emden until Shipped 12th Dec - 15th in the UK - currently no date yet as to when it will land with Dealer! I'd be pleasantly surprised if we do get it for Christmas.

We have a different registration system in the Netherlands so I wouldn't want it until the new Year anyway. Difference between a 2011 and 2012 car.

Have downloaded thwe manuals and am studying hard.

Sandy - a 2012 61 plate will be worth more than a 2011 61 plate - I'd wait until Jan to register it!

Frustrating, I know, but possibly £3-400 difference in resale value?

You'll love it whenever you take delivery
